| Quote: Cherry_Warrior "I think, for about 60 mins Silverwood was very, very quick to give Saints penalties. Extremely quick to make sure Saints went some way of securing their spot in the top 4. Imagine the outcry if it ended up wigan v hudds and leeds v cas. You get to the top 4 on merit not on name, and that applies for ourselves and Leeds. Huddersfield could and probably should have imploded after the penalty count but credit where its due you stuck to the task. I think the 7 penalties in a row was nonsense, Although for Lawrence to be stood where he was on a team warning was stupid.
Who did Anderson b0llock at the end. He wasn't a happy man but you could see the passion in him in his interview and his eyes had filled up. He was the happiest man in Yorkshire last night.'"
He wasn't a happy man because with 4:09 on the clock, saints one score behind and saints attacking our line the clock wasn't running for the entire set as silverwood forgot to restart the clock from the scrum- so saints got an extra minute or so to equalise- imagine the controversy if they'd scored then kicked a last minute drop goal! Apparently the match commissioner ran off pretty sharpish. The penalty for that gaffe by the officials will probably be to officiate the challenge cup.

best thing for me last night, apart from the result was the saints fans who had been sat in silence for an hour then got giddy when it went to 20-20 and started singing and goading us, almost as if they expected them to win the game from there ( and to be fair some of us did too), but then after we scored again you didn't hear a peep out of them and then to watch them all streaming out with 5 minutes to go was beautiful.
yeah, well done on the small band who were there last night, created a great atmosphere as usual away from home

He dropped one ball and lost one in a tackle. Let's ignore all the good points. Terrible game indeed.

He didn't have his best game last night- can't remember when he dropped a ball- let alone two in one game- he wasn't the only one though. Murphy dropped a ball with a try begging- he also only had to make three tackles all night and he missed two of them. huby missed 3 tackles and made a particularly unimpressive 4m per carry (similar to eorl, compare to 8 made by walmsley) - but that doesn't count. Some players only have their negative points mentioned others only their positives. All players make errors. Playmakers tend to make more because of the number of times they touch the ball.
Grix is what we have, he's better than anyone else we have in that position at the moment. We'd all love a billy slater- but we don't have one. If grix was playing half hearted like Bowen then we might have something to moan about. And he still looked better than quinlan last night.

| Dropping a high ball under swirling rain is no scandal
Dropping the ball with a clear run to the line is - Broughton wouldn't have missed
On the whole the team played well in tough conditions, some had excellent games and I don't think anyone had a poor one

| best win of the season for me was that, i thought we were done when they got it back to 20-20 but showed some great resilience and spirit to not just weather the storm but to the go on and win the game.
Cunningham said he thought they had some decisions go against them, but i thought we were hammered especially in those last few minutes of the first half, yes, technically they probably were all penalties, but as wells said in the analysis he was probably too quick to blow, saints were doing the same thing but not getting penalised, we see teams doing what we were getting hammered for every week, we did very well to only finally break after 30 odd plays on our own line.
i have been saying we need to show we can win these close games and last night was a start more of the same please!

come even you his fave fan cant say he had a good game, he had a shocker
missed the man for first try, but why he was first man anyway i dont know
knocked on from restart, knocked on from a high kick, lost the ball in second half in a silly position
examiner only gave him a 6/10 , lowest out of all the team so i cant have been the only one to have thought this
you only seem to comment on this forum when it regards grix
care to comment on anything else? ive mentioned brough too, what you think? anything other than grix?

Grix also made at least two try saving tackles, and contributed hugely to our improved attack last night with his running round the back-
Didn't the examiner give huby 8/10 he made 4m a carry according to the stats and didn't do anything else much that I remember- so excuse me if I take the examiner scores with a pinch of salt.

He dropped two kicks, one lost in the tackle, one awful pass that led to another player knocking on, a couple of awful tackle attempts.
He made 2 or 3 X as many mistakes last night as he does in an average game.

We know you won't acknowledge anything good he does- only point out the bad- don't do the same with brough or Murphy though .....
How many shocking kicks from brough? Murphy dropped a ball with no pressure and another high ball - which didn't count as saints was offside- but still dropped!!! He also missed two tackles (out of three he needed to make) that led to tries-But no lets just pick on one players mistakes.
It's called bias ......
We know your thoughts on grix- you go on and on and on and on............. About it.
But he's our fullback and the best we have so at least be fair.

You are turning into a parody. I rarely criticise Grix. I doubt you can find a post where i have.
But feel free to defend the indefensible.
