| Widnes away with them losing Brown just got easier imo
And we'd have creamed them their last year if not for our 2016 trademark collapse lol
I can only hope Stone has seen our lack of starting ability and last seasons fade and fixed it
Also Andersons game plan of kick deep and hope we can keep our discipline will likely change too thankfully

| I'd much rather play the harder teams (on paper) first to be honest.
No easy games, but we need to get off to a good start after such a shaky last season. Can't be dragging ourselves into big pressure at the start otherwise we'll be trying to play ourselves out of a hole we aren't in.

widnes not lost brown yet think they want a fee for him and wire not paid up
kicking deep game plan was the way our team was set out and worked..look at the league leaders shield season, went wrong when they stopped working hard for each other, believing in that game style and giving pens away!
be good to see stones new way of playing in 2017

Because the Aussie press initially stated that he would be out until at least march. They also reported it was ligament damage not a break.
Would also be interesting to know whether it's the same ankle that kept him out for Newcastle at the beggining of last season. He's a 22 year old- spot on- so why not just let our youngsters play instead of paying a fortune for an Australian one who Newcastle fans aren't bothered is leaving?

| Have been hoping the Mamo deal would come off since first mentioned. Young with huge potential and has always seemed keen to come. RS rates him highly and willing to sacrifice Wardle to secure him. Just got to trust his judgement.
ATEOTD what other FB is available to us with the same potential? Sure he will demand a good wage but can't blame him for that given that he is coming half way cross the globe - I for one can't wait for this move to be confirmed even if we will have to wait for him to recover from injury. It is a long season with the important games at the tail end (hopefully top 8 games!).
if the Wakeman move comes off too then happy days

| Quote brearley84="brearley84"think mamo will only come if north queensland release ponga early for him to go to newcastle early, north queensland say ponga is going nowhere so as it stands mamo wont be coming which is a shame as stone has tried his best to get the lad in, might be too late to find a full back now for 2017
missed out on hardaker too, maybe pre season plans on the recruitment front arent going to plan at all for us!
'"
Apparently we didn't even speak to Hardaker, if that's true then it seems daft we would then go out and do a deal with Ryan bleeding Bailey- again, only rumours and hearsay.
Here's another i've heard - Brad Dwyer on a season long loan from wire !

| Dwyer would be a great addition and hes OOC end of this season so maybe if he has a good year with us we could persuade him to stay - cant see Wire letting him though, they did this last year or the year before with London then had to pay compensation when they wanted him back because of injuries.
There are a couple of good young hookers in the championship who I would take. Adam O'Brien at Bulls and James Cunningham at London but he moved to London to be with his girlfriend so is unlikely to leave. Hopefully we will sort one before the season starts.
