| I was half watching the match while playing in my regular card game but from what I saw they kept their heads in adversity. Excellent line defence at the end of that first half. When Saints edged in front following the kick out on the full I thought, 'here we go'. But they responded with the sort of grit & determination that Hudds sides have a reputation for lacking in these sorts of games. Hats off to them; a great win.

Ellis is also really starting to make an impact. His kicking helps to take pressure off Brough but he is also a dangerous runner and is also linking play on the right side attack.'"
Completely agree about Jake. I was one of those previously disappointed by his progress but I thought he was outstanding. Ellis was tremendous to - you could also tell from Danny's interview after the game how much he appreciates having Ellis there playing as he is.
I didn't have much issue with Silverwood at all to be honest. I thought the most pleasing thing was we didn't play as well as we could, we faced adversity and we still looked a bit more game 'savvy' than we have done in these Top 4 games and, more importantly, we won.

| I said at half time I had no issue with Silverwood if he penalised Saints in the same situation as we were offside a lot and also slowed the play the ball down. To be fair I felt he penalised Saints for the same offences in the second half. I also thought his calls on tries were spot on so I would actually say he had a good game.

Shame he missed swifts foot in touch and a pass after the tackle was made for the build up to the try that everyone was calling forward. Shame he called a strip which was a dropped ball that gotta try (eventually) that put saints tails up at the end of the first half. Shame he let the saints players play him for a fool-
He should be dropped next week- but how much he gets the cup game---- the above- yeah okay, swings and roundabouts perhaps- but letting saints play a full set with the clock stopped when they were just one score behind and 4.09 on the clock was a shocking error!!!! Imagine the controversy if saints had scored in the final minute!!!

| The timekeepers are in charge of the clock so not the refs fault. But agree it was shocking if clock did not move whilst play continued.

you forgot to add to that lot of bias comments...SHAME he missed the ball being kicked out of adam quinlans hands which really should have been a penalty try..just thought i'd mention it!

| Who shouldnt have had the ball even to do that since Giants should have been given the ball back due to forward passes, crossing or moving off the mark
Saints were well beaten with 18 men on the team and only Silverwoods one eyed Reffing kept you in it

They are- but he didn't restart the clock after the scrum- so he was at fault there.

Perhaps you would like to go away and check that.

From a neutral's viewpoint, I reckon that Silverwood let both teams get away with about the same, in order to make the result as close as possible.
I know that this opinion on the reffing will not go down well with either set of supporters but to really put it in perspective, neither team played particularly well and are no danger to Leeds or Wigan on that showing.

| I think, for about 60 mins Silverwood was very, very quick to give Saints penalties. Extremely quick to make sure Saints went some way of securing their spot in the top 4. Imagine the outcry if it ended up wigan v hudds and leeds v cas. You get to the top 4 on merit not on name, and that applies for ourselves and Leeds. Huddersfield could and probably should have imploded after the penalty count but credit where its due you stuck to the task. I think the 7 penalties in a row was nonsense, Although for Lawrence to be stood where he was on a team warning was stupid.
Who did Anderson b0llock at the end. He wasn't a happy man but you could see the passion in him in his interview and his eyes had filled up. He was the happiest man in Yorkshire last night.

| we dont half make things hard for ourselves!!! the amount of chances we handed saints on a plate
the start to the second half was shocking
grix had one of his terrible games and brough had some bad mistakes
still cant see us or saints winning anything this season.
on the plus side we have beaten the champs on their own patch and they were desperate for a win
mcgillvary awesome and so was cudjoe.
the faithful and cowbell army were in full flow, top night!
