Well Silverwood made us work but a bloody good win

That was arguably the most pleasing result of the season, With many things going against them the giants stepped up and did what was required, To me Silverwood went a long way to keeping Saints in that game, and fair play after a long spell of heavy pressure from Saints in the second half we scored with the first chance we got.

Not a classic game , but not the weather for it either, but the ball was getting plenty of air and that's all you can ask for in conditions as wet as that. Another big game for McGillvrey, deserved MOM. Taai was doing some damage as well.

Well done to the Fans who got over , there looked to be a decent number and you could here them singing loud and clear on TV.

Pack outstanding and workrate all round top class. Cudjoe and Mcgillivary outstanding but also thought Connor had his best game yet. Ellis is also really starting to make an impact. His kicking helps to take pressure off Brough but he is also a dangerous runner and is also linking play on the right side attack.

I was half watching the match while playing in my regular card game but from what I saw they kept their heads in adversity. Excellent line defence at the end of that first half. When Saints edged in front following the kick out on the full I thought, 'here we go'. But they responded with the sort of grit & determination that Hudds sides have a reputation for lacking in these sorts of games. Hats off to them; a great win.

Completely agree about Jake. I was one of those previously disappointed by his progress but I thought he was outstanding. Ellis was tremendous to - you could also tell from Danny's interview after the game how much he appreciates having Ellis there playing as he is.

I didn't have much issue with Silverwood at all to be honest. I thought the most pleasing thing was we didn't play as well as we could, we faced adversity and we still looked a bit more game 'savvy' than we have done in these Top 4 games and, more importantly, we won.

I said at half time I had no issue with Silverwood if he penalised Saints in the same situation as we were offside a lot and also slowed the play the ball down. To be fair I felt he penalised Saints for the same offences in the second half. I also thought his calls on tries were spot on so I would actually say he had a good game.

I didn't have audio - what did he say?

Shame he missed swifts foot in touch and a pass after the tackle was made for the build up to the try that everyone was calling forward. Shame he called a strip which was a dropped ball that gotta try (eventually) that put saints tails up at the end of the first half. Shame he let the saints players play him for a fool-
He should be dropped next week- but how much he gets the cup game---- the above- yeah okay, swings and roundabouts perhaps- but letting saints play a full set with the clock stopped when they were just one score behind and 4.09 on the clock was a shocking error!!!! Imagine the controversy if saints had scored in the final minute!!!

The timekeepers are in charge of the clock so not the refs fault. But agree it was shocking if clock did not move whilst play continued.

Still haven't beaten any team above us though
