| So you'd be happy to see Nathan brown celebrating winning the LLS with his next team whilst in our stadium on our pitch! ?

| Quote: Mad_Jack_Mcmad "No it isn't true. Play offs have decided 3/4 of the Championships in RL history. All our titles have come through play offs. 42% of our titles have come after we finished 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the table. Hell in 1973 Dewsbury finished 8th in the league and won the Championship. 28 teams prior to 1974 won the Championship after finishing lower than 1st in the regular season table. Perhaps people need to go out and tell these clubs they've been living a lie for all these years.
People may not like them but play offs have been an integral part of Rugby League since 1905, it was only in the 70's they switched to a first past the post system. Nothing to do with Australia, nothing to do with SKY.'"
How come you haven't got slated for delving into historical facts like I did???

| league table is irrelevant, win another 4 games and we are super league champions!
it's as simple as that, never mind what other teams are doing, we have it in us to do it we just need to go out and do it!

.........and at the risk of starting the "discussion " all over again --did every team play every other like they do now when that was the case (barring the "extra Magic Weekend" fixture I admit !!
For many of those years you quote there were many more teams in the ONE league but split into geographical areas either side of the Pennines
Generally lancs and Yorks teams played each other with a few fixures overlapping and the Cumbrian clubs
Many of those teams are now NOT in SuperLeague and there are in effect three divisions --so the structure is completely different
If yer gonna have a pop and correct me --would be fairer if you compared like for like
I was comparing SuperLeague to the football Premiership
There --becaise it leads to European Football --the team that gets most points over the season IS accepted as the best!
The "playoff" system in footie only serves lower down for the purpose of promotion - but the ones in the Premiership dont start a new little competition again to prove that someone, who as you say, finishes 8th can become champs and go into Europe as the "leading" side / champions
I aint saying all this cause we finished top and fluffed it last year -- Its still my opinion that the play off towards Old Trafford is just another season extension comp and shouldnt be held as highly - belittling the LLS like it does IMO
Dont bend the rules ref!! --theres enough o them about!
PS --and as much as it wrankles -- if Nathans lot manage to finish top - then damn well done says I whatever they do after that !!

| Simples ;
Beat Saints finish fourth if Cas win
Third if Cas lose too
Fifth if we lose to Saints
As per above above away v Cas
Or
Away to Wigan/Wire
Or
Home to Widnes or Catalans

| One permutation you missed:
If we win, Cas lose, Wigan/Wire draw, we finish 2nd and play Wigan at home

| One consideration for me is that I always think we are worse after a break so if we finish in the Top 4 & win that first game, while obviously I'm hardly going to complain, the 2 week break would worry me going into the semi's.

yes, we do struggle with a week of it seems, last season also we rested players in the final game of the season at bradford and it backfired, anderson said in hindsight it wasnt the best option.
a home game against catalans or widnes i would be confident of winning.
but the top 4 always gives you a second bite of the cherry!

| I'm not bothered who we play- we've got to beat the best to get there. I want to see something we've only seen once. That was first game against Wigan. play well for the full 80 minutes!

| What will be will be, but there is always a percieved hard way,an easy way. for me Wolves and Warriors are the teams in form, if we loose tomorrow, they will probabley be away to Saints and Tigers, and l would fancy them both to win and go streight to the semis, if we get passed our 2 games one of them will be hosting us.
lf we win tomorrow we will split them, and the chances of a Wolves v Warriors semi will be on, good for us, provided we are in the other semi. All to play for, our last, and biggest game of the season so far.
