| Seems to me Murphy is being seen as defensive only but he does run hard with the ball and often looks like making the break. Agree Charnley is quick but you're assuming he's in the clear when he gets the ball - if we do the job properly he'll have Murphy in his face and Murphy is strong. Don't really want to see Ukuma playing he didn't look fit to me and could well be a major weak link on Saturday, but another month down the line could be a different story. Seen suggested team showing Leroy on wing - hope we don't fall in to NB's habit of changing multiple positions to cover one, leave Leroy in the centre and change one for one. Tough one this week and am sure we can rise to it but let's not have doom and gloom if we don't get the result!!

The only way to get him fit is to play him. I cannot see he would play last week and then be dropped if fitness is the issue.
As for Leroy i have suggested in the past he play as a winger to mark Pat Richards on the kicks to the wings.
To me is a good tactic so i would be ok with it. Murphy and Wardle at centre IMHO makes us stronger on the back line defensively.

| Surely our plan is to beat Wigan in the forwards as they have a much smaller pack than us ??? The Saints game plan will come out again they'll play Murphy on the wing but swap on high kick tackles with Leroy to cover the Richards threat looks to have some sense to me.
Man for man they only have Tompkins whose significantly better than our man in the same position but we have the best four props to balance that. If we back foot their pack it doesn't matter as much about the backs providing we don't keep missing tackles.

| Looks a very strong team, Wigan will put three into the tackle and try and slow the game down, ala their game against Wire. With our size and speed in the forwards we need to make sure they don't get a chance to dominate this area.
This will be one hell of a game and it's only week 3, bring it on.

| Quote: GiantDee "Cording is not a good defender??? Must have imagined his trysaver on Sunday. Only two rounds in but a contender for tackle of the season.
I would be tempted to bring in Mullally for tactical reasons, his bulk could be useful against Wigan, there will be a mighty forward battle. Whom for? Depends how fit Ta`ai is. Could be for Cording, but no reflection on Jamie who has done all asked of him.
I am also ok with Murphy for George, Wigan kick to corners a lot.
Finally and perhaps famous last words....... don't think Pat Richards is all he is cracked up to be, very decent player with a strength attacking kicks to the corner and a damn fine goalkicker, but if he played for say Huddersfied rather than Wigan he would be regarded as a good not brilliant player.'"
Great tackle that by Cording. The London player looked like he was certain to score then Cording came from nowhere and stopped him dead.

| Quote: jools "Luke played 25 games for us last season so I'm not quite sure where you've got the idea he misses a fair few.
And it's all very well murphy bring able to tackle- but he's got to catch him first! It's all very well having wingers that are defensively strong - but against a side like Wigan we won't be scoring in the centre of the park as easily as against London. It feels a bit like we are on the defensive if you'll pardon the pun and are worried about them scoring rather than us trying to.
The only player with any speed out wide will be leroy and he will probably be covering Richards as leroy can also leap like a salmon'"
think we played 32 games last season cup/playoff included so he missed 7. not a high rate but still missed a fair few to injury..

| I am confident Murphy will take his chance well. He is an excellent player and gives us options all across the back line
