Yes Neil Fox was player coach, and Malcolm Branch scored quite a few tries off his amazing passes, they seemed to hold in flight until Branch ran on to them at pace, and he took some stopping out wide.
It is a pity we did not have Foxy earlier in his career.

| David Jeanes & Steve Lyons were a fearsome 2nd row! They;d easily get into today's team even though they were at the end of their careers.

Fleary played for one saeson and was ok but well past his best. I would say Jim Gannon was more effective for us than Fleary during the early years back in super league.

Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2)

Hmmmmm? One season? seemed longer,,, More like two, second as captain, or did I dream it? 2004 - 2005.

| Sorry, April 16th, 1978. Cramp scored 4 tries & Wroe 3 up to this point.
I'll post the programme on the Heritage site.

Stuart would be absolutely delighted to read this topic and seeing his name being mentioned in the best 5 centres for the club although he was more of a winger IMO
I had a catch up with Stuart a couple of years ago when he came back over from Australia for his dads funeral, he's doing really well over there running his bar up in Queensland
We recalled one particular game we played together for Morley boys in 1975-76 against York <with a young Gary Divorty playing for them>
We were getting beat by a point going into the final minute when we were awarded a penalty under the posts, as goal kicker for the side i was shouting for the ball from him to pop the winning goal over, but Stuart tapped the ball to himself and popped over a drop goal to tie the scores?
He was a very talented and lightening quick player, but by god was he always infuriating to play with
I posted this years ago about him:

| Cant recall him ever playing winger for us......especially with Ian Thomas and Brimah Kebbie, he did form a terrific centre partnership in the 3rd division winning team with Chris Chapman though.

If he'd have just kicked a drop goal for the penalty without taking the tap beforehand it would have been 2 points also, wouldn't it?!
