Quote: fartown since 1961 "Do we stick or twist? Back the coach or ask him to leave? Change the training patterns ? Drop the players who are not performing? Play the kids ?
The current feel around the club is similar to the end of Nathan Brown days. The systems aren't working every one is frustrated at what point does change become an absolute necessity?
This state of flux does no one any good can be endlessly debated and not one of us has the right answers.
Only Ken Davy can really answer the questions posed by our abysmal form and make a change he is a nice fair and loyal man maybe the answer is keep Paul and bring in someone to help him ? Maybe it's all change my only hope is that we don't leave it too long to react but we do need to do something even if it's a 'don't panic' message and confirmation that the club has total faith in the coach and our return to form however long that will take.
Most loyal fans are just worried for the club and this flux doesn't help.'"
Well if Mr Davy was too come out and give his decision, or thoughts, it would at least give people a chance to make their minds up on what they intend to do. I think most people on here are now resigned to the thought of us being in the middle 8. Whether you are for or against PA it is ( as you say ) quite obvious something needs to be done, even if it's only to tell us we carry on as we are.
Steve May made some good points about the professionalism of the club, I agreed with his opinions, I get the impression that there is a very cosy little number for people down there, People very much in the comfort zone with nice contracts signed and sealed, A nice big bowl of gravy to keep dipping their bread in, and not just players.
That's just my impression, and I am more than likely wrong because Mr Davy is a very successful man, he didn't get that way by accident so you have to think he is well aware and happy with things ( at least off the field ) No matter how many or bad the blunders, things have just remained the same , I can only repeat what I have said before. I feel his money is being squandered , but It's his money.
With regards to PA, Some want him to go now others want him to be given more time ( to turn things round ) It looks to me as though that point has already past, barring some sort of miracle, what is he going to turn it round too.
If as looks likely we should be in the middle 8s , will survival in that be regarded as having turned it round and be celebrated as some sort of success ( like getting beaten in CC finals , or playoff games ) .
What people are frightened of I don't know, How can changing something that is clearly not working make anything worse, We do it all the time with players and often finish up with a poorer player than we had, It doesn't stop us doing it again. We have changed coaches for fun in the past, when things have not worked and whether you are in or out of the Anderson camp, you have got to admit it is not working now.
If you judge success by the number of wins you get, then Yes PA has been successful, If by Trophies won , then far less so, but still more than most clubs. I would ask this question. Would one of the so called big clubs ( who we aspire to be one of ) still be soldering on after I win from 10, with their fans saying we just need to give him more time ,and get behind the team . Well Leeds are I know but I don't believe they will let it go on much longer. It's business pure and simple , you go forward or you change something. It's completely unrealistic to change the whole team, so the next thing to look at is the Coach , There is no room for sentiment, there is nothing personal in my opinion of PA, I don't dislike him, I don't even know him, I don't like him as a coach, and that's MO.
So any News coming out of the Giants would be welcomed by the Fans I'm sure . One thing is sure , It has certainly been a lot livelier on this board lately, so that can't be a bad thing, can it?
