What do you click to get it back to the original then?

Yep -I clicked advanced preferences and then "flat cap" choice --and then............enter , and then .........nowt happened ! I just get the new "blue" layout etc !!

They'll be inventing the internet next, I much prefer paper and pencil, and going to the phone box to make a call -assuming it's not vandalised, oh and they'll have running water and central heating before we know it

Does anyone else find the new layout slow when loading and scrolling?

In addition, the background pale blue is too pale to clearly distinguish it from the white areas.

I have commented to site admin, but just wondering what others feel.

I think the panel at the top and to the top right is way too large and takes up some serious screen space. I haven't got too much of an issue with screen loading times but then I have 60Mb Virgin at home and 500Mb at work so if anything takes time its usually server side.

What connection speed are you using mate?

20 Mb Virgin.

This and the Examiner are the only 2 that load & react slowly.

Examiner site is poor, I guess it's pulling a lot of information from different sources and is hosted on a low bandwidth provider.

Have a look at the top menu there are links to the mobile site - try using that. It will determine whether its the database or images ifs struggling with.

Are you using an upto date browser too?

That is fast.

The mobile & old styles are quicker.
