Quote El Diablo="El Diablo"I thought Leeds were their own worst enemies, and if you drop that much ball (how many times early in the tackle count after winning a penalty?!?!?), fall off that many tackles and concede that many silly penalties, it doesn't take a side as good as Huddersfield were tonight to beat you.
But that takes nothing away from a very impressive Huddersfield performance. The official party line is that we don't like the physical, direct, un-flashy, unpretentious brand of RL your lot play. But I'd be lying if I said that. It's aggressive, it's physical, it;s relatively uncomplicated but it's slick, disciplined and well executed. For me the big gap on the scoreboard reflected a gap in execution between the two sides. Both sides had good line speed, but Hudds missed far, far fewer tackles, both sides tried to move the ball, but Hudds passing and ball retention was far, far better, both sides tried to niggle at the tackle (yes, that's an art too) but Hudds did it far, far better (that really is a complement by the way).
All things considered, apart from the fact that Leeds were getting their a**es kicked, your mob were a joy to watch.
When you were chanting "can we play you every week" I did wonder whether that would be a bad idea. We might at least learn something. As the bloke I was talking to outside the ground said "we've been having it stuffed up us here for ages, so I'm going to enjoy this." Quite right too. Great performance, well done.'"
Cheers for that !!
it was nice to see the Leeds fans applauding us and our team as they left at the end as well, makes a change from the usual goading although there was still one or two bitter ones.........its alway nice to hear positive words from the oppo fans.
