A bridge too far at 38-30 but it sounds like we gave them a heck of a game.
We didn’t name a 21 man squad this week because we didn’t have 21 available.
The 18 man squad named was everyone we had.

Proud of that performance, we spotted the Cats a 20 point lead and still went toe-to-toe despite having a seriously depleted team. We've continually show that we're in the conversation for trophies, and I'm confident we'll get an element of revenge when they come to LSV.

3 forwards are very close to return, and it certainly looks like the players who stepped in today stood up to be noticed.
I think we can keep pushing to the top and be a Challenge Cup finalist with a bit of luck.

18 months ago we'd been relegated from another disastrous Super League season, we had a handful of players contracted and were only just about to appoint a Head of Rugby and a couple of weeks later a head coach. We went in to the beginning of the season with a threadbare squad with only a sprinkling of proven talent, we were up against it to recruit further.

To be where we are today, going toe-to-toe with the best teams, seriously contending to get to finals and win trophies is quite frankly a breathtaking achievement.

We may have lost today, and clearly a sketchy start cost us, but we've shown masses of character and once the lads got in to gear, also a lot of skill.

This team is going places.

Here here despite that being a loss don't recall a game that I have been as proud of a performance when not getting the result , big rap to the fringe players today who well and truly gave it a dig , full respect to all the coaches and backroom staff for giving so much belief in to some of those players who have struggled for game time this season .

The perfect ten was not to be, nor was the eight point winning margin that would have seen Leigh up into second place, nor the one by 37 that would have given us top spot in SL.

Since the bans were announced to further deplete our small squad, and the weather forecast for down there was noted, as posted elsewhere, Bongser had this down as a loss. So why does he feel so gutted?

Maybe because we nudged ahead latish on? It’s the bloody hope that gets you!

That said, well done to the squad players and special mention for Ed Chambo. Pleased for him.

All you can ask is that they give everything when out on the field, which this squad of players always do. With the injuries and suspensions I too was expecting a loss. With the results this weekend, we will be fourth at worst. I would have taken that any day of the week at this stage of the season. Hopefully back to winning ways next week.

Great return to the team for Chamberlain. He filled Kai’s boots well without much recent game time.
Were it not for the late fumble leading to Catalans last try 32-30 was a very close game.
