One problem Lam has to sort out is being slow out of the blocks. Look at the half time scores in the 5 games so far:-
4-12, 6-8, 12-19, 0-12 and 8-22. To get 2 wins from these is impressive, but it can’t go on indefinitely, especially against a confidence team like Hull. We’ve got to get into them early like Salford did which knocked the stuffing out of them.

Makes you wonder whether we consider starting and ending with Edwin for strong 25-30 minute stints, and have the other hooker play either side of the halftime. I know why we bring him on midway through the half but we do need a strong start. Then again, in Lammy I trust.

An absolute must to start strong. Hull will come at us early and try and blow us off the park. The longer it’s a tight game, the more nervous they will get. We score a couple early and get a good lead, who knows what it could end up.

If we can give up the slow starts and just get into the arm wrestle we can beat a lot of these teams, our attack is coming along but we need to just stay in the grind.

After the slow starts, a few of our points have been scored when the oppo have had players in the bin.

Sounds like we have made too many mistakes in the second half (another knock on as I type) but a win here is a massive result from the lads. I’m on the edge of my seat here is Vancouver.

Sounded like we made harder work of that than we should have, but I'll take this win and 4 points from 4 on our travels to Humberside.

I think Lammy will want to work on our game management, but I expect he'll be happy we put ourselves in position to win.

Lam has been clear that we will not really be a finished article for at least 10 games. We have won 3 out of 6 despite that and against what looked like a very tough opening schedule. It did sound like we gave Hull too much ball through our own errors in the second half, but we also stuck in the wrestle and got the win. That’ll do for me right now.

I’m encouraged by the start to the season and the potential we have once we get a better handle on our play.

Another great result. Massive well done to all the team. A short turn around next week against the enemy. There is only two players I feel are a threat to us, French and Feild. Keep them away from the ball, then we have a great chance.

Agreed NZ. It will be hard to stop them getting the ball but if we don’t back off and give them space we will be doing what others have not. Wigan look fragile but they do know how to stay in a game and get the win.
I believe we are the better team right now but we will have to be at our best and not give away cheap meters and ball.
