Also, why was Acton and Ferres sin binned when no punches where thrown?'"
Leigh were masters of their own downfall.
Mata’uita gave Kendall no choice but a straight red, his “tackle” on Parcell was essentially a suplex which was very dangerous.
Dawson’s red was just poor professionalism by an experienced player who should know much better. He clearly called Kendall a “Fu***** cheating ba*****”. The try should never have stood in my opinion, but Dawson’s reaction was just petulant. You can blame the red for awarding the try, and you can understand Dawson’s frustration, but the reaction is pathetic.
Acton/Ferres sin binning probably could have been avoided, the ref obviously didn’t want the game spilling over into fighting. Jamie showed a level head generally throughout the game, despite being targeted by Leeds who were looking for a reaction from him. The Acton of seasons gone by would have been sent off yesterday.
The major issue for me however was once Mata’utia was dismissed, Leigh heads went straight down. The reaction that you want to see is a team pull together, roll up their sleeves and double their efforts. Leigh just rolled over. They stopped talking to one another and just allowed Leeds to run riot for the rest of the first half. This combined with Leeds targeting of Drew Hutchinson, whose defenceive abilities are truely shambolic.
