| Jamie Acton - 'No action' on a citing of use of knees in tackle. 'Point of contact inconclusive'
Kevin Larroyer - 'MRP Caution' for 'dangerous contact'.
So, once again we have got away without a suspension.
I have no problem with these citings, especially as we haven't lost anyone to suspension. I am however, amazed that only one other Championship player, (from Sheffield), was cited after last weekend's games. (from a total of 204 players in action) Was there really not another tackle that warranted another look?

| For once, I didn't start this topic as a 'RFL against Leigh' conspiracy. (after all, both our players 'got off') It's just that I find it amazing that a review panel watched six Championship matches, involving 204 players, making an average of say 20 tackles each (approximately 4,000 tackles) and only 3 were worthy of further consideration?!? Yeah, right!

In this week's almost identical episode of the disciplinary saga, three more players were cited for 'iffy' tackles in last weekend's games.
Last week's 'naughty' clubs, Leigh and Sheffield, appear once again, along with Toronto. Our 'miscreant', Drew Hutchison, was reviewed for 'preventing a player to regain his feet, to play the ball' - now there's an offence we rarely see!! (especially in the Barrow game, the previous week!) Hutchison was sin-binned for the 'offence', a punishment that was decreed to be sufficient.

I have no argument with Drew's punishment, and can only marvel that, once again, 201 other players did not commit an offence worthy of being reviewed by the disciplinary process!

| As a contrast with the last two weeks, when only three Championship players have been 'referred' each week, the three Challenge cup ties involving Championship clubs, resulted in [size22[/size 'referrals' of Championship players. (along with 16 SL players) Featherstone head the list with 9 referrals; (Hull also had 9) Toronto with 7; (Warrington 3) and Leigh 6 (Salford 4).
The Catalans/Whitehaven game only had 3 referrals. Obviously, discipline is much better in France and League 1, than in the Championship!
I'm surprised that our game contained 10 tackles, worthy of referral, when the previous two weeks' Championship fixtures only managed 6 in total!

So what's the answer Alan?

This season's system of 'penalty notices' was supposed to be fairer and more consistent but, on the face of it, doesn't seem to be so. Supporters of all clubs have had conspiracy theories, whereby the RFL is biased against their club. That obviously isn't the case, but somehow, consistency has to be developed and applied. The framework of what is acceptable, and what isn't, appears to be too loose at the moment. How you make that more rigid is difficult - but a way has to be found.
