Indeed, one club one vote, with most outcomes 7-5 in favour of the top five. The TV money could be more substantial, as there would be less clubs to support.
Not seeing changes until 2021,wont stop the negotiations now in progress.
You don't mention licensing, other than nothing will change until 2021. Will that time frame ensure existing SL Clubs not meeting that criteria now, are being given the option to make it so, or suffer the consequences.
In other words, the clubs not meeting the criteria now have three years to put it right.'"
Hi Atomic, firstly Sky have stated that they are in favour of the jeapordy aspect that is brought about with the Middle 8's and if they are insistent on the format maintaing it isn't that tantamount to saying we are staying with the 3 x 8's structure, has you state negotiations could be ongoing in fact they could have already commenced re the next TV deal, whichever way we view it SKY untill any other broadcast company come along with any where near or better than the present deal SKY still hold all the ACES. On that scenario if no other broadcaster comes forward I dont expect an increased offer forthcoming!
Secondly, you say in any voting situation the majority vote would favour what the top 5 desire, those 5 I imagine would be Wigan, Saints, Warrington, Leeds and Hull, whilst I think those clubs could decide collectivley they would like to move in any number of different directions or formats, perhaps they may not suit the other clubs, by the way does Catalan who I keep hearing are guests in SL actually have a vote?
Thirdly, No I do not mention licensing, it may well come about, then again it may not get the required votes, If it does come back it will be as a "closed shop" I for one hope that never ever sees the light of day again, even if Leigh was to be one of the chosen few I would still be against it, the Championship is becoming a wonderful competitive competition could you really see that would have happened if the top division was locked out, not a chance. If it did return to licensing and we were outside of SL with no way of getting back in I would stop going, after over 50 years of supporting Leigh and I would expect I would not be on my own, and that would not only apply to Leigh it would reverse all the the good work that has gone on in the Championship in the last 3 years, otger clubs supporters i believe would follow suut.
You may well be correct again, in that working alongside my no-change till 2021 it gives those clubs who do not meet whatever criteria that has to be met for SL entry the opportunities to get up to speed, that is one scenario which would have had to have been voted on and agreed by the majority of clubs.
