As our coaches seem to be struggling I thought I might look at our squad and pick a side that might help them!
I'm I cheeky or what? icon_biggrin.gif

1/ Reynolds
2/Hall
3/Evans
4/Matautia
5/Bergal

6/Mortimer
7/Hutchison

8/Vaivai
9/Baptiste
10/Acton
11/Larroyer
12/Thompson B
13/Thompson J

14/Hood
15/Mason
16/Patrick
17/Hansen

I've selected Reynolds at fullback because, he'll never be the halfback we require so id like to see he can handle that postion?
I appreciate some of the above are not yet available to play and this Team I feel would go well !
Come on chaps lets help our Coaches because, they certainly need it!

I'd go

Hall
Bergal
Evans
Matautia
Owens

as backline.

Given injusries, this week, would have Crooks for Evans and Cunningham for Baptiste. Need to get the best half back partnership playing, so can't put Mortimer at 9.

Maybe it's time to give Jordan Dezaria and Nick Gregson a run out, both have played very little rugby lately and would be chomping at the bit to impress. Both went pretty well in the pre season games.

Totally agree both with the back line. (Crooks and Dawson are not cutting it)
and the need to bring in Cuningham Jnr to move Mortimer to half back. There is a real necessity to finally admit Reynolds is [icurrently[/i not having the impact expected. His kicking game again let him down at Barrow. One 'grubber' is probably still bouncing down the M6 as we speak.

My team when everyone is fit would be
Hall, goal kicker.
Bergal
Evans
Matuatia.
Dawson Jones.
Hutchinson.
Mortimer.
Vai Vai.
Baptiste.
Acton.
Larroyer.
B Thompson.
J.Thompson.

Subs.
H,Hanson.
Hood.
Mason.
Patrick.

Of course everyone fit at the same time will be a rarity.

Can we give Reynolds a crack at Loose Forward please Mr. Cunningham, sorry Mr. Jukes, or is it Mr. Beaumont? Either way, probably too big and slow now for 6 but still has a rugby/football brain and can tackle. Can he tackle? Anyway, Reynolds for Loose in the next 2 games please. If it all implodes, he can go with Spongebob Squarepants.

Just read in the Leigh Observer that NJ is not quite sure where we go with the team and, has ruled out wholesale changes icon_eek.gif
Well of course he cant make wholesale changes, we'd have no team!
When a group of musicians play from Music its ok however, when they are lead by a conductor it all comes together! This analogy can be applied to a Rugby team with the Conductor being your halfback?
We have the players but they are lacking the on field guidance that an intelligent and capable Halfback will provide!
On Sunday I kept hearing the name Dallimore, now I don't know the Barrow team but I thought I bet he is their Halfback and, low and behold, he was!!
William Barthau will be in town on Sunday (Toulouse Halfback) and he was Toulouse Game star last weekend!
We've already seen McCone Toronto, Brambani Batley and Dalimore for Barrow all orchestrate their teams surperbly! We've got Riddy and Thackery coming next week with Fev and, Gerrad Sammut will be along soon with London! icon_sad.gif
Come on Neil make a change at halfback on Sunday, try leaving Reynolds out and play either Mortimer there or Hall ! I'm sure most fans would like a change, it cant worse ? if it is then make another change and so on......
until, we get it right! icon_rolleyes.gif
P.S. Neil, if you cant see this is our problem then, oh dear me!

Perhaps thats the problem. Does he actually know that there is a problem ? Or that the problem lies with him. Because lets face it he. looks clueless in the stand he acts clueless if anyone can get a interview out of him. He has no answers to the situation we seem to be in.

After 30 plus games last year he still didn't know his best team, often picking it out of a hat it seemed. Probably why he got rid, just couldn't decide - so let's start again.

Last season was a nightmare as far as Team selection went,as has been stated the Coaching team never sure what the best 17 players were, again this season seems to be the same ,although we are only 3 games in,I'm worried it could slowly get worse.
What doesn't help are facts like 900 less season tickets being sold, an alarming drop in attendance for the Batley game, now we have this decision to change the kick off time for the Toulouse game with no official explanation. It seems to me the Club and the Fans are going in separate directions,we should both be working together.
LISA never gets mentioned any more, why?I'm hoping for a resounding win on Sunday, and getting back the feel good feeling, all working together for the same goal, SL for Leigh Centurions.
