Any news on how he is. He looked in agony when he came off.
He was in the dug out for a while with his arm strapped up but then when he didn't come back on I think he might have gone to hospital.
Wonder why Maria didn't play today

It didn't look at all good - the lad is very tough, so it must have been bad. Ironically, his current role is one of the very few that we have cover for - in Liam Hood and Eloi Pelissier. For me, Maria also has to come back in - he has youth, energy and decent skills on his side. Something that looked seriously lacking today.

Bicep apparently, so likely his season over. Decent options at hooker as you say and that bit doesnt worry me - but when on the pitch he's also like a third half back, which gives us options and keeps the opposition guessing

Maria is a strange one, if fit can't really understand how he wasn't in the 17

Danny Tickle on the other hand is still the consummate proffesional. He will be in at 7am all week, the first to arrive for a days graft alongside Micky Higham.

Well Maria's attitude on the pitch has seemed ok, and he would have played before Richards for me.
Agree about Tickle, thought this would have been a season too far but he has been more than up for it

Before the kick off on Sunday NJ when giving the team news said that Maria was unfortunate - because he had to find a place for Tickle. Personally I think he would have been better to leave out Richards - Maria is a real handful which is just what we need.
On a totally different topic - a big disappointment all season has been our kicking game (apart from Mortimer), but the most annoying aspect is the kicking for touch from a penalty. None of our kickers seem able to make more than a few metres with penalty kicks even in perfect conditions. It is by far the easiest and most effective way to put teams under pressure.

You're missing the point - who can replace his tactical kicking?

Drinkwater, plus whoever plays stand off, will have to stand up and be counted. Surely with Paul Cooke, who was a fantastic kicker, on the coaching staff, some of his knowledge and skill should be capable of being passed on to somebody?

My point was that Mortimer can be adequately replaced as a dummy half, by Hood or Pelissier - both current international players.

Has anything been announced in regards to Mortimers injury ?

He says he's booked in for surgery today.

We have just not had a break this year but no use feeling sorry for ourselves. We still have a big job to do.

Thats a shame because i was liking the look of him !
