Anyone else think we perhaps should go for Chris Ashton? Banned and out of favour with England RU, but would be a big name signing and could be great for Leigh.

In the old days we used to sign some big name RU players (eg Bev Risman) so why not again?

........because he is an even bigger light weight in defence than Gregg McNally. We need SL quality backs next year and the main reason Ashton went to RU was the fact he was getting found out in defence. Probably the reason that Northampton played him on the wing in RU.

We all have our opinions on the players we need to give us a chance of competing in the SL , and how many we need , Derek has already stated we have 4 signings in the bag, and a very high quality player will be announced tomorrow.

The thing is one man's high quality, is another man's run of the mill,I've heard so many names mentioned in the last couple of days just hope it's not an anti climax.The last time we were in SL our turnover of players was around 10,but the quality was not very good , in my opinion we have a better squad already this time around than we did in 2005 so that's a plus,and hopefully we have the Financial muscle to compete with the other SL teams.

I think around 6- 8 of our current Squad will leave ,making room for players coming in, will next season be used to consolidate our position or will we aim for a Top 8 place?I have confidence in Derek to buy the quality players we need,I have the confidence in Jukesy, Cookey, Purtill, and Ando to Coach them well, and hopefully we get enough fans through the turnstiles to make it all a success.

The players who have been suggested as targets ,some are good quality, some are they better than what we already have?I'm not sure,I do feel we should give them a chance when they are announced, myself I've been a season ticket holder for a few years now, and will be buying another soon, I hope tomorrow I'm saying ,Now that's a good signing,when the player is announced.But if I don't ,I will still follow and support the Club and the BOD.I can't wait for tomorrow.

Derek think of Ferris, Kent, Leaf, McCurrie, Fleary, Mars, Feunati,Jones, Cooper,Smyth, any players would improve on them, even Penny.

People should remember that the situation was very different in 2005 , and also not forget how many players we ended up using due to injuries
