| Watching the highlights and 3 of our 4 tries come on the next tackle following a Jake Emmitt drive. No coincidence. He hit it up hard, drew men in and we scored off the next play... 3 times! Chris Hill used to have a similar impact, we scored so many tries off the back of his carries.
Unit was fantastic today!

| Not been a big Emmitt fan due to lack of yards and impact taking the ball in, but at Bradford and again at Fax he seemed to be taking it in far stronger, then of course we had that sublime pass to Patterson at LSV inbetween - perfect prop in the making?

| I tend to take Jake for granted. You know what you are going to get from him, week in, week out - very, very reliable. However, this season, he seems stronger and is definitely making more yards.

| All.the forwards are playing well I thought Gaz Hock try on Sunday was outstanding he went through four defenders and carried them over the line took some scoring that did

| Good championship player that attracts a lot of defenders and has an exceptional work rate, but has the leg drive of bambi - this unfortunately unchecks the SL box for my money. Personally I think Spencer or Hopkins have more impact in a similar role, but it's all subjective.

Acton too has a more aggressive go forward than Emmitt! You can't fault Emmitts enthusiasm though and he dosn't hide from play !

| From our props I would say Fui and Spencer have more impact, Acton has (way) more aggression and Hopkins is easily our biggest attacking threat. But I would wager Emmitt makes the most metres per game week in week out. Big minutes, great fitness and huge work rate. Nothing glamorous but somebody has to do the ugly work.
I know he has just arrived but Dayne Weston at the minute looks an absolute gem. He has everything. In a pack that is already looking brilliant he still manages to stand out ahead of the rest. Whoever managed to scout him out and convince him to come over deserves some sort of bonus. He is sheer class.

| Sunday was the second consecutiive league match away at Halifax that Emmit was my MOM. He is a stand off in a props body.
Not all props are grunts . It is equally important to find the floor quick, ptb and let Higham sprint at a still retreating defence. Forwards are coached to do this. Jake has a great engine on him and can get on his feet fast.
Emmit has a very important role to play for Leigh and he does it superbly. A class player.

| This time 5 years ago Jake Emmitt was tracking to be player of the year at Cas, played 60 mins against wakey in a challenge cup game with a broken nose, before severely injuring his knee cap at wigan early June. Never got close to recapturing his form again after that. It's good to read he's going well, if memory serves me right he played for Saints in the 2010 grand final!

| I think you need Emmitt alongside one of the impact props, like fui or spencer who fight for the extra yard. Emmitt compliments the pair of them with the way he drags defenders in and always lands on his front, very rarely gets turned in the tackle and plays the ball quickly. Doesn't stand out as much when you're watching spencer and fui bounce tacklers off left right and centre, but he creates the quick ball that those impact props thrive on.

Almost all of this ↑ ☆☆☆☆☆
For me, I prefer Spencer over Jake, breaks more tackles, bigger more muscular build & faster, if only he got more game time ....
Not sure Jake makes more metres but won't argue any of the rest.
Your comments on Dayne Weston are spot on Nozzy, can't really add much, for me at least, a SL forward & then some, awesome talent.
I am also really glad we managed to get Patterson & Hansen from Salford too, both are going great guns ATM, 2 fine signings.
Our pack this year is just [iBRUTAL[/i
