Leeds are currently bottom of Super League, what would happen to them if they got relegated? They would be spending way over the salary cap and would have renegotiate lower contracts or let loads of players go.
Is the new system designed to keep the big teams rich, and the lower teams equal?
I'm all in favour of P and R, I just can't imagine it happening to a Leeds or a Wigan.... Financially it must just destroy teams

Keep up. The salary cap is now effectively the same for the Championship as SL. It is just championship clubs 'relevant income' means they are unable to spend up to the limit. Leighs limit has been set at 1.31 Million, think Bradfords is slightly higher

Super League clubs have to adhere to the same 50% principle. The salary cap rules across all divisions are now the same, each clubs salary caps are set at 50% of relevant income, but no higher than £1.8m. |

Do super league clubs get £1.8 million now from the Sky money, if that's the case and I will stand corrected if I'm wrong, that would mean clubs would "only" need to generate another £1.8 million through other means, season tickets, sponsors etc etc. Without sitting down and breaking it all down you would of thought every club should be able to generate that kind of money. For example 5000 season tickets at £200 each is a big chunk of money towards the £1.8

I didn't work anything out As Michael Ward confirmed SC rules are the same across SL and championship so regardless of differences in income the statement of spending over the salary cap was incorrect, that's all.
