Rams 34 - 0 London

I know friendlies count for little once the season gets underway but still a surprisingly comfortable win for Dewsbury today. Looking at the team sheets both sides had their strongest teams out too.

Reynolds made his debut for the Rams today playing at 6. Sounds like he had a strong game as well as kicking 5/6 conversions and a 40/20 too.

Think a season at Dewsbury could take the lad to the next level.

Will London struggle again or is it too early to tell? Getting nilled and hammered isn't a great start for a full time outfit against a PT team. Great result for Dewsbury though, could be big contenders again this year and maybe even pushing for a top 4 finish.

They always seem to struggle away from home and if its the same again this season they wont have any chance of making the top 4. Batley sound like they did a good job on a Hunslet team that Fev struggled against and it also sounds like Fev had a bit of a slog against a Leeds U19's team.

Dewsbury beat them four times last season, including a pre-season 'friendly'.

Good side Dewsbury. Will make the middle eights this year in my opinion. Difficult to beat on their home patch.

So who do you fancy in your top 4?

Good team Dewsbury, controversially I think they'll beat Fax into the top 4. Every year they just quietly go about their business and every year they improve and move up the league. Would be quite happy for Morrison to replace Rowley.

Bulls, Leigh, Sheffield & Dewsbury.

Leyth, Bulls, Halifax, Sheffield. Fev 5th.

And yet London could be top of the league by the time they play Leigh in the third round. They open their fixtures with an away game at Oldham and a home game v Swinton!!!!

Swinton will surprise a lot of teams this season.

We Leythers now know that it's not what happens in the third round, or even the 23rd round, that counts!
