| Has the middle 8s been a success ? If Bradford dont beat Wakefield in the Million Pound game it will be, Staus Quo
The four Super League teams will return to rejoin their their estranged colleagues currently playing in the Super 8s !
What would have been the purpose of this exercise? Can the financial inequalities be the reason for that or,is that just coincidence?
Leeds have just topped their league and have been trounced in their last three games! Do you think they need a plan 'B' because it looks like they have been found out in the Super 8s! Perhaps a new Coach is the answer there?

| Seems reasonable that if no club is better than the four SL teams then no club should be promoted. How would the league be served if a lesser team went up. Built in quality control.

| How do we know it's a Bradford v Wakefield in the million pound game? Are we again taking things for granted!

If the four SL clubs go back up, then I would like to see a more level playing field next year in the middle 8s, that's for sure.

Because no club below Wakefield and Bradord can get 6 points.

| I've enjoyed it but I think we all, including the RFL, realise that some tweaks are needed for next year.
Possibly close the transfers off at week 20 or 18 and possibly better support for the Champ teams as well as paying them for televising home games.

There is no level playing field across the Championship so not sure how it could be applied in the middle eights.

| Been great, cannot remember the last time I moved things around so I could attend the Rugby and actually drove to each match looking forward as the outcome of the score was never known.
I can also say that after Saturdays defeat v Bradford I haven't felt as gutted walking off a RL field and for so many days afterwards since Widnes knocked us out of the play offs in 2001, That's what competitive sport that matters does to fans.
Can't wait for next season already!

| It's certainly made things very exciting and a massive improvement over previous years. Think The Qualifiers are the way to go rather than straight promotion & relegation which didn't work before. However could do with a tweeking to stop teams from doing what Wakefield have done while rewarding teams like Leigh & Bradford for being so good in the Championship. Think the 12th place SL team & 4th Place Championship should get their points reset to zero & everyone carries how many more points than that they have up to a maximum of 5 (so you still have to perform in the Qualifiers).
So this year it'd have started
Widnes 5
Hull KR 5
Leigh 5
Bradford 5
Salford 5
Sheffield 1
Wakefield 0
Halifax 0
Though Wakefield have been an abnormality & I doubt they'd have thrown the whole Super League season if it'd have meant certain relegation. So removing Wakefield from it it'd have started.
Leigh 5
Bradford 5
Widnes 2
Hull KR 1
Sheffield 1
Salford 0
Halifax 0
Which would put the current standings at
Hull KR 13
Bradford 11
Widnes 10
Salford 10
Leigh 7
[Wakefield 6]
Sheffield 3
Halifax 2
It would make it more likely teams going up would come back down again but at least they'd have that one year of Super League experience and so will be a stronger team for it.

I've made this point on loads of boards across the network to people who say just proves x team isn't good enough for super league. That's possibly correct but too think any promoted side wouldn't strengthen is just stupid. How do you know if they would be better or not unless you have a crystal ball or a time machine. In football teams in the championship don't have too beat a premier league for promotion they need too beat teams from the same league how it should be.

I never said a level playing field across the championship, I said the middle 8s, meaning, Signing deadlines, and salary cap being increased. If for example it was raised to say £1.4m , then that should be applied to all clubs outside of SL to aspire the chance of doing better. Any club coming into the championship from championship 1 also had that kind of money to spend, then they stand a great chance to progress to the big time. Allowing SL clubs to be able to spend more money on their club opposed to other clubs outside of that division is surely some sought of discrimination.

Hmm.. One year of SL..We were certainly stronger for it in 2005..You just can't pop up to SL and take a fall back to championship without serious consequences..Your either prepared before you go,or don't go at all.Simple.

Again its one of those situations where comparisons with football dont stand up, the player availability in footy is big enough to work how you suggest, in RL it isnt, this system demands a level of performance in an intense situation, ideal preparation for entry to SL
