I speak from the heart when I say I think we are fighting a losing battle. How can we compete against the SUper Leage sides we and other championship sides were at a massive disadvantage before the first game .I feel sorry for the players our Derek and the board of directors Paul and all the dedicated coaching staff and of course the fantastic fans.
We have been fantastic and made progress on and off the field over the past two seasons but achieved nothing .
I hope the RFL realise what is going on and how glaringly unfair it is for championship clubs. Wakefield as we all know have invested to keep them in SL but I would put a bet on they will be in the same situation again this time next season .

I am a loyal Leyther I love my club and will support them whatever . And I do still think we can make that 5th spot .
But I hate to see the heart and soul being ripped out of this team. It is only my opinion but I do think this is what is happening .

it wasn't a problem in the cup games.

the simple truth is that in a one off game like a cup game Leigh are capable of beating Salford and Wakefield, in terms of doing it every week, you have been found out, your playing style,although good and exciting to watch is full of holes, which even the poorest of SL teams will and have exploited.
i wouldn't be too down about it, most people except some Leythers expected this to happen

The simple truth is we have recruited the best we can with the amount of funding and salary cap we get.

No we didn't play that well today and our defense was poor and 50/50 calls went against us but no complaints as we need to try and put it right next week.

No doubt if you got the same amount of funding and salary cap that we do,you would most likely to be in the same boat thicko.

To be fair Cokey, at least Meast (!) hasn't come on here just laughing at us, unlike others.

4th place is not beyond us yet, let's not get too despondant, we could also finish 7th (sorry Sheffield). That's the beuty of the comp at our level. Realistically HKR, Widnes and Salford were always top 3, Wakey have played the rules well which is a bit of a bummer.

A lot depends on how we react to these 2 defeats, not used to being turned over so big test for coach and players.

What I don't understand is up to Wakey beating Bradford yesterday there has been no mention of players/coach /money etc ,Wakey were/are crap and would be totally annihilated . What's changed ????

Someone hit the nail on the head on the other board, as long as the SL teams beat the Championship teams, then we can still be in contention if we win all of our Championship games...... we can come 5th and the have a play off for Super League

This was always going to be the most likely scenario. A win against any SL team was/is a huge bonus in this competition. Full marks to HKR for their comeback last week, and to Salford for dismantling us today. We have another crack at it next week, against opposition that are still the most likely SL team for us to do well against. Granted, that will be a very big ask of the team, but it IS possible that we can make it a bad day for Wakefield.

It's now that the coaching staff and players have to show their true mettle. I wish them all the best for that - and hope that the last two games haven't taken too much out of them physically, or mentally.

Mind you, we will still need to be extremely wary of our Championship opponents too!

Budge you can't blame opposing fans coming on here and laughing at us , after all it was only yesterday that a fair few Leigh fans were coming on this message board laughing and saying how bad Bradford were.

First half although I don't currently have the benefit of a rerun I thought Greg McNally definitely scored in the first half which would have made the score 24 18 in the second half.

Can't deny once they scored to go 30 12 up I thought that was game over but I still can't understand why McNally's first half try was ruled out.

Salford deserved the win but I still think we are in with a shot of promotion.

I watch practically all our games unlike some who are not Leigh fans and who have posted their views today.

Our players might still do it. We will see' but you could tell at the end with the reaction from our players that they were as gutted as us fans.

Bit early to be getting negative.If games go to form, Leigh should finish fifth. They'd have a chance in a one off game because they have the strike power to score points.

I wouldn't rule out wins against Widnes or Wakefield though the odds are stacked against. Wakefield have improved massively. Every time they got in our 20 last week Tim Smith really looked the part.
