Leigh Centurions Head Coach Paul Rowley has named his squad for the final Warm-Up game of the 2015 pre-season as Oldham visit LSV on Sunday (3pm).

After Warm-Up victories over Wigan Warriors, North Wales Crusaders and Keighley Cougars the Centurions will be looking to complete a fourth success to send them into the season on a winning note.

But Scott Naylor’s Oldham side, who suffered a heartbreaking extra-time defeat in the Championship One Grand Final at the hands of Hunslet Hawks last October will provide a stern test.

The Roughyeds have recently entered into a dual-registration partnership with Super League Huddersfield Giants which will greatly enhance Naylor’s selection options.

The Centurions 20-man squad comprises: Corey Lee, Jonny Pownall, Michael Platt, Sam Peet, Cameron Pitman, Ben Reynolds, Jack Hansen, Jonny Walker, Lewis Foster, Jamie Acton, Andrew Dixon, Jamie Tracey, Jacque Peet, Jordan Hill, Chris Rowe, Elliot Liku, Mitchell Cox, Tommy Holland, Luke Warburton, Eze Harper.

Paul Rowley said: “This week’s team will provide us with another exciting opportunity to view some of our younger stars take to the field together with first-team players and face a very stern test from a full strength Oldham team bolstered by a heavy influence from Huddersfield Giants.

“It will be interesting to see how our youngsters deal with seasoned pros like Scott Grix, a former Leigh favourite and a truly outstanding player. This game will also see Michael Platt return from pre season surgery and to also allow more game-time for new recruits Andrew Dixon and Ben Reynolds as they continue to become more fluent within our systems.”

Leigh Centurions Head of Rugby Derek Beaumont added: “I am looking forward to welcoming Oldham’s fans to the LSV. They are always vociferous and share a good banter. Their loyalty to Chris Hamilton and their team given the successive bitter disappointments is testament to their true support of the town and the game.

“It will be a very tough division next season in Championship One and there will be lots of clubs dependent upon partner clubs and Oldham have obviously secured a very strong one in Huddersfield Giants. I am looking forward to seeing our younger players back-up their performance against North Wales.

“Rolls and his backroom team have mastered a perfect preseason, overcoming various problems and injuries and I am confident they have given us the best possible platform for the challenging season ahead. Despite a crowd of 1,100 for last week's game against Keighley we will remain loyal to our fans by keeping the North Stand open.”

One to forget TBH but normal service will be presumed next Sunday. A few +'s but also a lot of -'s. though young Frankie Halton showed well and could mature into a gud'un.

ps Who was that in the number 2 shirt ? Aggressive little sod who could go onto have a long carrier at Leigh icon_wink.gif

And still tried to throw it away at the end after our drop goal. The restart only went five meters but our lack of experience meant that instead of a penalty for us one of our players caught it and gave them chance to win the game from a half line kick.......................it was well short but could have been embarrassing. icon_sad.gif
