On this day in 1988 TIMMY #989 made his Leigh debut.
What are your favourite memories of Timmy?
One of mine was whilst I played for Hull KR against Leigh at Hilton Park. With a couple of minutes left in the game Leigh had a penalty on our line and Timmy drove the ball in and lifted his elbow (slightly!) into my neck. As I tackled him I gave a push and must of said something! Timmy played the ball and walked into me, give me a little head butt - I returned one (a little one) and all hell broke loose.
I ended up with a red card for headbutting - Timmy got a yellow as ref didn't see his headbutt! I also ended up with about 4 staples in my head as he cut me with a punch!
We ad a good laugh after the game though and Timmy is a great friend of mine to this day.
Me and my mate always bet on how long he would last before the ref sent him off!
We never bet more than 10mins!
Word had it he had his own parking spot at 'Red Hall'
I used to get well peeed off with Timmy playing the hard man and getting sent off or binned all the time. How did that help the team's efforts?
He was a man transformed when Millward arrived and told him he was no damn use to the team if he was going to be sitting in the stand every week. He completely changed his attitude and was an infinitely better player for it.

And still managed to get sent off in his last ever game
