Like to wish him happy 80th birthday.
Never saw him play but I've read enough and seen footage to know he was a very special player.

Use to go in his pub when Leigh and Great Britain played at Central Park.

Fantastic player - Great showman - super advert for our game
Met him a few times during 1992 Tour of Oz - really genuinely nice guy.
BUT my best memory is seeing Fred Hewitt tackle him into touch three times in one match!
