| Apparently the South Wales Scorpions v Oldham was abandoned today after the players were showing signs of Hypothermia.
They tweeted this earlier:
Sth Wales Scorpions @ScorpionsRugbyL 4h
Match abandoned on 72 minutes. Final score which we think will stand is Scorpions 4 @Roughyeds 18
Sth Wales Scorpions @ScorpionsRugbyL 4h
Rain was intense, pitch was bad and many players were down suffering from hypothermia symptoms. Ref had no choice to abandon.

It was Oldham's coach who first reported it.
Sth Wales Scorpions @ScorpionsRugbyL 21m
We were 4-18 down and chasing a bonus point but torrential rain, wind, waterlogged pitch and icy mud put paid to all
The conditions must have been pretty horrendous if the players were suffering from hypothermia. I'm sure this must have happened before but I've never heard of it.

Crazy weather, was a lovely spring day on Saturday and yet today Winter returned !
I remember a particularly arctic day v Swinton away at Gigg Lane and a few of our players needed one of those 'silver foil' blankets to get his circulation back !

Gotta agree, it was midweek match, and the coldest I've EVER known it!

| From memory wasn't that Swinton game also being played having already been postponed twice?
On a similar note the Whitehaven fullback Tom Carr was showing signs of hypothermia after the game, so I hope he's ok now.

| One of the worst I have been too was Mansfield Marksman away at field mill. I'm sure the snow that day led to Trevor Cogger having to be lifted in full kit into the bath to thaw out lol
