Sad news today that the club photographer for at least 15 years has died today. He ran backwards and forwards during the game at LSV & did all the after match presentations both at Hilton Park & LSV. He was a lovely man

I was made aware of this very sad news only this afternoon and would like to express my most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Maurice's family and friends.

We were made aware that Maurice was poorly a while ago and also made aware of the severity of his illness recently and I'm sure we will come up with a fitting tribute to Maurice and his family once we get our heads together in the New Year.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing him personally but was fully aware of who he was and the great work he did for the club and town and he will be sadly missed.

Terribly sad news. I'll miss our little pitch side chats - what a lovely man he was.

From the perspective of a programme editor, I am devastated to hear of Maurice’s passing, coming as soon as it has, after Wayne’s untimely death. Towards the end of the season, Maurice told me that he wouldn’t get to Christmas. At least he confounded the illness for a few extra days! I did email him a few days ago, but didn’t get a reply – I feared the worst then.

I know we’ll find someone else to do the photos for the programme, but in my book, we’ll never replace Maurice or Wayne – two great blokes, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Maurice was a champion photographer, in any sense of the word. I have many fond memories of him, and one that sticks in mind was how he got ‘Kes’ to turn back, on his lap of honour at The Shay, to take my grandson’s photo with him.

Rest in peace Maurice – I treasure every moment I have known you.

Very sad news, especially at this time of year. Seems like we have lost a few good Leythers over the last fortnight.
My thoughts go to all their friends and famillies.

Our thoughts & prayers are with Maurice's family & close friends a top bloke who will be missed greatly.

I've just read this topic after seeing it on Facebook and I had to post a little message.

I spoke to Maurice on several occasions during the fixtures against Featherstone in the last 4 years. He was a very kind and caring man, who had a lot of passion and enthusiasm for Leigh and RL.

It's a very sad to hear this news and I can't thank him enough for all the small tips and little chats we had during the game.

Really Sorry to hear of Maurice's passing...sincere condolences to his family and all at Leigh from all Swinton fans.
