Just read on the Leigh official site that club capt and allround top bloke Rob Parker has called time on his playing career the guy has been a star while back with his hometown club and I'm over the moon that he's staying on in his very important role with the Centurions Good Luck Superstar

I thought this was common knowledge since the middle of summer that 2013 was his last season.

Yes thanks Rob and I am sure you will carry on doing a brilliant job in your new off field role.

Rob's had a excellent playing career winning the Grand final & league, Challenge cup, World club champions along with captaining England too so a big thank you for your services Rob

Finnished off nicely winning the NRC for his home town club it was a pleasure watching you Rob especially in cherry & white a proper RL legend in my eyes & top bloke

I'm sure there's more good things to come from Rob in his new role keep up the good work mate

An end of a great career, I feel we would be crowned champions if he and Hopkins had been fully fit and for the run in and play offs
Rob's enthusiasm off the pitch is as big as that he showed on it, and I am confident we have a great commercial manager in the making - whose results will shortly be unveiled

Rob is doing a great job, we will miss his enthusiasm on the pitch but rest assured he is putting that same enthusiasm and communication to great use in his new role.

Seriously though I'd never met Rob till he came to Leigh and I'm not sure what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't the character that is Rob Parker. He looks all mean and err... he is a forward so I wasn't expecting him to be quite so 'bright' and friendly (and a bit wicked with his sense of humour). What a great bloke he is.

His playing career speaks for itself and I'm just grateful that he got to finish it off here (not forgetting the rousing Churchillian-like speech he gave when the players found out they weren't going to be paid and they subsequently smashed Batley all over the park).

We 1 st tried to sign Rob in 2003 , Paul Terzis approched Brian Noble to take him on loan as he wasnt getting a start at Bradford, almost immiediatly Rob was put into the Bulls team and stayed there for several years

Always a shame for players to come to the end, but at least his mind is still intact, and his good looks of course

I will never forget my 14 year olds reaction when Rob came on in the NRC final.
He was blown away by the power, and relentless running and tackling.
