We put up a good hard fought effort tonight, at one point we had 5 consecutive drop outs to put up with but held strong. The only time the defence was broken was when we looked like scoring on a break out from Higgy and the rest of the team switched off. A good arm wrestle that we just shaded I think

Superb defensive display under pressure after a lot of lost ball in our own half, first half especially, seemed to be a lot of errors at the play the ball but what a tackling stint that was! Hats off to all the lads that was some struggle tonight. Another punch up and down to 12 men each seems like a good omen!

That was brutal at times error strewn handling from the Centurions bombed several,try scoring chances but the defence from both teams WOW plenty of biff plenty of exciting play Leigh just need to realise that if they run onto the ball and move it wide they will score just like McNallys try at the death Great Win lads well played Halifax all in all a exciting match lol

That was one of the best defensive displays I've ever seen - awesome.

Ball in hand was a different matter but my God those boys ran their blood to water defending their line. Well done to each and every one of them.

Amazed that there are so few posts about the match. Looks like an old fashioned arm wrestle...the bulk of the points being scored in the last 5 minutes - highly unusual in this day and age. Who was sent off and why?

I see the crowd was 2,000 which isn't bad considering the timing...looks like we picked up an extra 4 or 500 from the cup win.

Two points behind Fax now and we are unlikely to overtake them. Still, a good win after all the exertions and excitement of the last couple of weeks - could easily have turned into a loss, so the great defence speaks volumes about the pride and passion of the lads.

I don't think there will be anyone fancying playing us in the play-offs home or away.

Those who really love and understand the game will appreciate the quality of the defence (5 consecutive drop-outs is an incredible stat in itself) and know that its worth the admission price just to see it.

it was announced as 1.772 (I think) not bad though.

TBH that defensive display was nothing short of heroic, the amount of sets spent on our line seemed never ending - not sure I have ever seen such commitment in watching 40 years of RL

No complaints from a confused Fax fan. Good arm wrestle but to be honest I thought we were the stronger side - apart from our abject lack of creativity. Nice friendly place to visit and we shall meet again no doubt.

Cracking game, tremendous intensity.

Yes we were our own worst enemy at times in continually coughing up possession and yes 'Fax were bobbins in attack, but the sheer volume of tackles made by the Leigh defence was something I've never seen before. The sheer will to keep them out was terrific and once again underlines the tremendous team spirit in the Leigh camp that is there for all to see. It might be costing us another player for a couple of weeks, but 'one in, all in' won us that game tonight.

Tom Spencer should get himself checked out just to confirm that he isn't actually Ironman.

Ostick took us forward well and is coming on leaps and bounds IMO. Bate will become a fans favourtie in the mould of Timmy. Boarding on being a little bit mental but loves the physicality and the contact, loved it just a bit too much tonight. Tough little bleeder though.
