| Does anyone else watch Ryan with ball in hand and get that feeling of excitement / anticipation that you got in the 99, 2000 season when Neil did ?. I know they are different players and Neil was the main goal kicker, you could say at his best Neil was a mixture of both Riddy and Kes but watching Kes gives me those same feelings i used to get when Turls got the ball.

Both X Factor Players who I'd pay money to watch.

| It was a great pity such a brilliant player has Neil Turley had to retire at such a early age so it was a pleasure to have seen such a fine player and nice bloke iplaying for his hometown club Neil had the lot a points machine if ever there was one he could read the game brilliantly and was always in the right place at the right time he had the WOW Factor that's for sure and RL lost a awesome player when he retired
I see a lot of Neil in Ryan B he reads the game brilliantly and can score try's out of nothing he loves playing and comes across as a really nice bloke yes Ryan is going to go a long way in the game defo another player with the WOW factor

| I would totally agree - I'd have to say that Turley is my all time favourite player to watch. I think Kes might be a bit quicker bit both excellent backers-up and try finishers.

There was only 1 SUPERMAN (KING JOHN WOODS )he would make his own breaks , score the tries , kick the goals , and would have a kicking tee in his back pocket , if he was playing today , NO CONTEST . .

| It was the 2000 - 2001 season Turls started at Leigh proper, he made his home 1st team debut V South Sydney Terk thought he would only be a bit player and had brought in Simon Svabic as his full back however the rest is history, it was also my first team debut as cameraman.
Turls had played at least one game in the reserves the season before after Wigan (yes Wigan ) cut him, it shows just how ahead of his time Terk was his use of the Full back is how the modern full back is expected to play, for me he is the best technical coach Leigh have had in my time anyway.
John Woods was the player who had it all speed, guile, defence kicking both field and goal, and a great reader of a game, however with todays training regimes I doubt whether he would even turn pro today.
It is unfair to compare any of these players as all are different in their skills make up.

| Also makes you wonder at what point in his career Ryan moves to full back, his attributes suggest that will be his natural position

Fred , I remember that South Sydney game well , it was a very cold and wet night , id seen young Turley playing in Wigans academy team earlier before he was injured , I said then he was the nearest thing to Sir John id ever seen , he was a very good support player , not in the class of Terry Lamb , he was the master at support play , but Woody made his own breaks , when John made a break 90% of the time it ended with him scoring a try , an English Stand-off like Woody in todays game would be Priceless .

| Woody was my all time favourite, with Neil also an outstanding player. Both were worth the admission money - although I've gone off Neil somewhat, now I remember he played all his time with us as a (very) long-term D/C player from 'you-know-where'!!
Young Ryan also has the X-factor and is still learning - who knows how good he will become? Definitely a master-stroke re-signing him and involving him with the Foundation.

| All our great players are Legends, but for sheer excitement the guy to watch was Mick Martyn. Mick would run on to the short pass, knees up to his chin, and smash into the defence often running through 3 or 4 tackles and come out the other side to score or move the ball on. Awesome!
Best of luck to the lads at Fax today and well done all the travelling support. (Stuck in Kent with Premier Sport!!)

Can't disagree - I just never saw him play in the flesh!
