| Father's Day present. First game since Batley at home. Kids bored, wife bored (I won't be getting any tonight!). Only flair play on show were by McNally and Finegan. I'll stick to picking and choosing games while that style of play is on show.

| The first try was fit to grace any stage, absolute corker. Agreed we played far too much 'one up' rugby but once we started targeting the channels we made hay while the sun shone.
McNally's finest half hour in a Leigh shirt, and Nicholson had a big shout in turning the game as well. Some seriously big defence at times too.
By sheer luck ended up sat next to the mythical figure that is Walt Mooney's Fan Club as well!
Enjoyable Father's Day with my lad in the West Stand, thanks Leyth.

| Cracking 1st try, although I did say at the time why was Finnegan kicking on the 2nd tackle!
Steve Maden had a brain explosion on Calvert and was rightly penalised, pity Leahy didn`t reciprocate that decision late on in the 2nd half for a similar offence.
I thought we looked better when Nicho replaced Penky and needs more game time IMO.
To the OP I think any side would be a bit undercooked missing both half-backs.

Excuses. There is only one scrum half in the whole of the first team squad and he played today for the first time in months. If we accept mediocrity at this stage of the new regime things will never change. We have had two and a half years of bland rugby combined with financial problems. I understand that things won't change overnight but it would be nice to see something change. We had an announcer on the PA who sounded like a bingo caller. I brought my two young daughters today and I tried to sell it to them by saying they see dancers at half time. They were not happy when they saw a group of kids shaking Pom poms and doing the splits. Everything about the match day experience is boring and unprofessional. To top it off the rugby on show has you looking at the patterns the groundsman has made with the mower for entertainment.

| Cup quarter missing both halves, club skipper and you big signing for the season, your only back option not played yet but doing water boy duties and we are on the back of two losses.
I'll take the win, not pretty after a brilliant opening and we are a game off the final

| I agree about the announcer and the style of rugby-interlaced with so many elementary mistakes we made 'haven look world class for the first 20 min. Things take time to change and we do forget that we suffered stuff like this at Hilton Park-often worse.
It would be good to see a frank admission by the new BoM that things need to change in terms of style of rugby played

| What you shouldn't do C&H is beat about the bush with your comments, I think your comments are partly to do with the frustration of seeing a team underperform again. When I say underperform I mean the way we threw chance after chance away on the Haven line and the way we kept giving up field position with either bad passes, the odd mistake and stupid indiscipline. Some of our trys today were superb and made todays win seem better than it was. Players who have underperformed in the past couple of weeks did well today for me, except one who - if he keeps playing like he is doing - I personally think should be dropped. His passing is all over the place and he is so slow getting up to play the ball, he needs a rocket up his backside. There were times when we were very unlucky today and had the ball stuck we would have been 40 up by half time. Even though I think we still underperformed, if we had played like today at Worky we would have beaten them by 30 points. We are going in the right direction and the team looked more balanced today but the inside ball is driving me daft. Our next two games are must win games because both these teams can play a bit now and will be thinking that Leigh are slipping up mid season. Come on Leythers get those chins up and chests out. Oh one more thing after TGs knockon I thought he was going to have a quiet day. Proved me completely wrong. Worked his knuts off today and made three try saving tackles on the bounce just before they went in for their first score. Lots of pros from today but enough niggling cons to moan.
Can't bloody wait for next week.

Listen to Derek Beaumonts comments on LCTV. It sounds like they are already on the lookout. Not for coach by the way and rightly so.

Well Charlie was treated to a Fathers Day Match day experience , by Charlie Jnr , and his Girlfriend Sarah , thank you very much ,BOTH of you ,and it was VERY professionally done , the Organisation on Match Days , is very good , I cant fault it , good value all round , an enjoyable day, even special guest speaker Kevin Ashcroft , who was good .
Post match was very good , all the players ready to Chat and sign autographs and have pics taken with any fans , nowt to much trouble , a good atmosphere ,so I TOTALLY disagree about the Boring and Unprofeesional experience , this club for me is so open now , I spoke to a couple of the new BOM , and they say the best is yet to come .
Maybe not the best game of rugby , but as has been said ,when the missing players get back the performances will improve.

Come on Braddy, you can make more of a contribution to this debate than just one word. Pour your heart out to the group!
