Was told yesterday, Fev were going FT next season , whatever happens and will be asking for an increased Salary cap of £900,000.
How are we ever gonna compete with them next year, unless we get serious investment into the club.
It was there for all to see, if you looked around, the work has started on the stand, classroom at the ground, community foundation working at the club,creches, ads for events where they will make money from as they own the bars etc.
They are getting the best crowds atm too, despite yesterdays down attendance by their fans, as there was 700 at least from Leigh, which means they only had 1000 on.

They pumped a consistent story for a few years and had success on field to support it, they must have huge director income to run a 900k team because it won't be coming at the gate and a few do's won't bridge the gap or maybe Faisal is blowing hot air before running again?

Who knows, but I think they are serious on where they want to be and thats obvious.

They cannot afford to go full time. Think your having your leg pulled.

No Championship club can generate sufficient income to do it.

Some NON RELEGATION clubs are struggling even with better crowds plus their share of the Sky money.

Should Sky ever pull the plug I doubt there'd be any full time clubs in our game.

News to me that we are going full time next season. What I do know is that Greg Worthington is going full time next season, he is joining the Community team along with 3 or 4 others that already do this.

.....and what's the point anyway. There's no reason to think they will finish outside top 9 next season.....US on the other hand need to sort out behind the scenes before we lose all our key players.

This is where we need to smarten up, Sheffield employ their more expensive players this way and now Fev seem to do so too
We need to find out how they do it and how they get the grants/funding


Neil we have done this ourselves, Paul rowley worked for our Community Dept while he was playing, theres been a few others too, we just dont have the Dept to employ them any more, although our former Community Dept is very busy working in the community and told me that they could have employed players with all the funding they currently have.
Shame that isnt it.

According to some Yawkshire speccies we have been full time since 2003, I joke not they really think that, loonies.

We had a good chat with an ex Fev director yesterday, he wasn't that happy with what is currently going on at Fev as it would appear that all is not all shining and light at Big Fellas, and whilst (unlike some ) I do not believe all I hear it couldn't all be wrong.

They have signed a current Tongan international for next season, he wont come cheap.
I would not be surprised if hey do go fulltime or half of the squad fulltime, as thats the only way to make the jump if the third option of the new structures come into place.

We don't need to worry about Fev or anyone else at this level of RL IMO long term.

We need to sort out our own backyard though and quick and firstly our finances, the only way this will happen now IMO is by shareholders and directors past and present doing what's right for the town and club and handing over control to a complete new management structure who are willing to take the club forward with a clear vision and genuine transparency like never before and also most importantly willing to provide vital new investment and acumen to give us a real chance to become the best we possibly can be.

We have every single ingredient required to go forward as a community focused club we just need the right commercially driven people to structure and manage the business correctly as a business to make it happen for the people of Leigh and integrate new investment with fan ownership schemes and new and increased revenue.

Yesterday made me feel justified in wanting to get involved and invest time money and effort into Leigh Centurions not many better feelings than watching those boys put in 100% for us on that pitch and get the rewards for it.

The pride I felt seeing those coaches full of leythers and big numbers in the stands and on the terrace's yesterday tells me we can TOGETHER make it work and be a big club with big ambition and a bright future if the right people are given the chance.

If an agreement can be made in the coming days and weeks then the new ship will be about to set sail with us all getting on board and heading for calmer waters.

You all know my views on the importance of the community and fans new and old so as fans (the clubs biggest asset) we need to be ready for the challenges that lie ahead.

If sky pulled the plug it be all part time again as only 3 or 4 clubs could go Fulltime with the crowds.

For this to happen these people you refer to, need to be got together and asked, I know this hasnt been done,as yet . Not having a go at you or anything but surely a shareholders and directors meeting needs to be held.

Is Brierley employed by the club/foundation full time?

I know your not having a go Linda we all want the same outcome and I know your as passionate about the club as anyone and have my upmost respect for what you do personally and on behalf of LISA for the club.

You also know how much respect I have for your Steve and believe his diverse thinking and ideas are needed going forward.

If (and it is still an IF at this stage I must stress) I'm part of things going forward I will certainly champion you personally for a major role in a new structure and id love to count on your support as im sure the other guys will feel the same.
