Just because there's a thread on the sin bin about the matter, why can't people with a common interest discuss it on their own forum? It had an "O/T" marking which was clear to see.

It is simple really, the Sin Bin is for non rugby matters, the VT is for general rugby matters and would you believe the Leigh Centurions Forum is for Leigh Centurions matters. It is keeping the place tidy.

.....so, how many Leigh Centurions players were running at Aintree last weekend?

Ian Millward's sacking is a 'general rugby matter' but has got 3 pages on here.

Not to criticise the general moderation process but the above then will now have to be applied to any Off Topic thread.

He would now need to ban all others to keep a fair and honest moderation policy and certainly a fair moderation policy is not just to ban threads because a poster does not agree with his personal view.

The way I look at our forum is like chatting to people at the game. Who talks about Rugby before during and after 100% all the time.

As for Thatcher threads - they can lead to nothing apart from abuse and disrespect for a human being that has passed away. I hated Thatcher at the time of being prime minister, but that is the past. She was doing her job as she was elected to do at that time. My views have mellowed since mind.

She would have made a great leader of RL no doubt.

The Watcher thinks the moderators have made rather a large rod for their own backs.

I doubt it was a personal view, I think it was a good early call on a topic that could have gone over the top.

If it's off topic and controversial then it's not likely to stay on here. I'm not moderating a thread full of foaming at the mouth expressions of love or hatred for Thatcher and the inevitable moaning and bitching that goes with it.

See I didn't view much of that. It was an honest (albeit off topic) debate about Thatchers policies and the effect they had on RL communities such as Leigh (slightly on topic)

From what I read far worse 'foaming at the mouth rant' threads against our BOD for example go unlocked on here. IMHO of course.

Leigh BoD threads are very much on topic. People posted what I considered to be malicious or overblown trash that was damaging to our club and I disagreed with passionately. Nothing was locked, nobody was banned.

I've had the misfortune of dealing with a number of Thatcher related threads on here over the last decade, and they all descended in to stupidity, hence if you would like to discuss Thatcher I ask you find another forum for it.
