----Following Leigh Centurions in the Championship until the day I die. I don't beLEIGHve.----: |
|
| I've pretty much decided that I'm not going to attend many home games this year due to lack of atmosphere etc, but on the flipside, decided that I'm not going to miss any away games as there's just a better general buzz about the places we go and I prefer that.
I've also just bought some flares and red smoke bombs for some games to add to the atmosphere, does anybody know the rules on setting them off inside the grounds?

1030.gif [quote="littlerich":1czuya0c]Widnes will be glad to get away from Leigh. They've been regularly pumped, roasted and left in the alley-way by the lobbygobblers. Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.[/quote:1czuya0c]:1030.gif |

| So someone else who can't see the likely problems with his reasoning.....and i'm not talking about the flares. You will fund other teams but not leigh the club you allegedly support. The reason.....atmosphere. Why no atmosphere? because people don't come due to one convoluted excuse after another.
I would like our club/team to be around when the walls of Jericho finally fall. That is looking less and less likely as you all pull your funding for them for one 'reason' or another. It seems not even a winning team is enough.
One of the reasons I am not doing the forecast this season is that not enough people are willing to go that extra mile. When i asked if someone else would take it on..yep that's right not one offer of help. There are a few people who go that extra mile but not enough. We will never get a koukash where we are so its down to how much you all want a club. I've done my bit for now so now its time someone else showed willing IMO.
Honestly you all make me sick.
Support your local team or don't have one...SIMPLES. Rant over

Ah right, didn't realise we now lived in a dictatorship state in which we HAVE to support our local team financially and give our spare time to as you say 'go the extra mile'.
Last year was the first in probably 10 years i didn;t have a season ticket, I went to 2 or 3 games and this year don't ATM feel like even doing that. That however is my choice and if it makes you feel sick i'll post you a bag I once nicked off a flight so you don't make a mess on the LSV steps.

| Suit yourselves. No financial support = no team. Nothing to do with dictatorship just reality.
From what i am hearing no team is possible in the near future.
I am not ordering anyone to attend as i said just pointing out the reality and consequences of your free choice. Unfortunately the club will not survive on messages of support. The reality is they need cash and quickly. I help as far as time and finances now allow.
Someone tell me if the following statement is incorrect in anyway whatsoever.
No Money = No Team.

Of course your statement is correct but guilt tripping past supporters is only going to push them further away IMO.
There are several reasons I do not attend (not all which are LCRLFC's fault) which I am not getting into, firstly because I don't care what you or anyone else thinks of my reasons not to attend and secondly and mainly becuase of certain posters on this board who just jump on anyone who do not agree with their point of view as you have already proved and ultimatley it is my choice whether to attend or not.

| Derick is 100 per sent correct in his post, it is really this simple, very shortly it wont matter about atmsophere, as there wont be a club, simple as that, if we dont improve the attendances, more fans = better atmostphere.
Ideas to increase attendances is needed.
Circumstances beyond the clubs control( no P and R , the dual reg fiasco) are mainly the reason people no longer come or pick and choose which games to attend, however if we all only go to away games then there would soon be no club whatsoever.
Theres is still a few of us going the extra mile Derick, all the fans who attend games too, lottery members, Lisa members and Touchdown members, but its new income we require, we cant keep asking the same people all the time.
I know the lottery dept have tried some new things in trying to get extra money in, Lisa have tried as well with functions , raffles on coaches etc.
Don and Derick did their bit selling their raffle tickets , saving what they make and then they help out when money is needed. Sharon and John running the Junior Centurions are really working hard, they need more help though.
The psg and their members also try and help out
The forcast starts well every season and always seems to drop away end of the season, I for one enjoyed doing it and did try and help and would have carried on helping, its just theres not enough people willing to help to make it more of a sucess.
Part of the reason too for no atmostphere is theres not many "younguns" attending and its them that seem to start off the singin.

| I go home and away because I have been a Leyther too long to get out of the habit. I still look forward to every game.
Have to say following your team only at away games is a sure fire way to ensure you soon won't be able to for the obvious reason our club would certainly go under.
Crowds make atmosphere at games and I hope you reconsider.

| The LSV is a purpose built sports ground with all the regulations what go with it, number of seats limited standing and all the health and safety stuff.
LSV will never have the same atmosphere as Hilton Park even if there was 1,000 at Hilton Park it still had a good atmosphere.
LSV is what it is so its up to us supports to make the atmosphere, so let us all get to as many home games as we can and get behind our team.

| I agree with Demon, fully 100% agree with Demon.
Everyone knows it can be an expensive day out following our team and no-one is insisting that people are obligated to come and pay and watch us. We all have choices in life.
The fact remains that You (we) can not continue to be a Leigh Supporter if there is no longer a club in existence.
If we all choose to only follow the team away, how long do you think we will be able to fulfill our away fixtures for?
Crazy !!
