The end of a legend. Well not the end he is coaching now.

Duffs was a great player for us and the testament to that was nobody on here ever had a go at him.

Glad he has got a coaching spot too.

We'll miss him 'on the field', glad he still with us in a 'coaching capacity' though.

I echo all the sentiments on here. John has been an outstanding player wherever he has played. He never gave less than 100% and how he got on the pitch at all some times, when injured, beggars belief. I've seen him hardly able to walk, the day before a game, and then be outstanding the following day.

It wasn't just his passion and effort though. 'Duffs' was a highly skilful player and, in my opinion, was one of the very few, who came out of our disastrous SL season, with his reputation enhanced.

A top player and a top guy with a great sense of humour.

Yes it was three stints, think it was 2002 when he went to Chorley for a short period. He's got a few runners up medals in there as well (Grand Finals in 2002 and 2003, Arriva Cup in 2003) so I'd have thought he's 'up there' in terms of medals.

A tremendous servant of the club and a great character to have around the place which I'm sure will be a big advantage for him as he begins his coaching career.
