How times have changed. I remember when Brian Bowman was chairman we paid Wire £50 000 for Ian Potter. Warrington had to accept cos they were skint and it was a great deal of money in those days.

Now most Leythers have £50k in several bank accounts. icon_wink.gif

Most rugby playing Chisnalls played for us and then went to Wire after 1971.

Chairman Jack chairman Jack is it true what Alex says he won't come back was our fans song back then.

Ah those were the days' when I had long hair and was a waiter at the Garrick.

The only night club I have ever been where pie and peas in a plastic tray was the only food available. Really impressed a date that, didn't it?

When I was growing up my mam regularly told me that I was the ugliest baby she had ever seen and she used to cover me with sheets when she went out shopping with me in the pram because she was embarressed.

Who could have believed' she ended with' that you would grow up to be the Adonis you truly are ! I used to say' "Mam I don't believe that first bit."

These days I never say anything.

The least talented of the Chisnall brothers by far. Never worked out why we needed him, but suppose he did a job!

The Garrick was the only club or pub that I have ever been thrown out of in my life,my mate went to the gents (Leigh supporter of co) and when he came back he said he was being chucked out.
I asked him what he had done,he said he was being accused of doing something unmentionable in the sink and because of this he was to be chucked out.(the toilet was packed at the time). But he said he was completly innocent.
I accompanied him to the door saying that I would inform them that he was not guilty and with me being a Wigan supporter they would believe me.
After two words we both got chucked out and I was the one who got his best shirt ripped.
icon_guitarist.gif Happy days.

Will always remember a monday night up in Barrow, think it was the 69 / 70 season, Les was clean through, no one "within coeee" as Stevo would say, all he had to do was put the ball down over the line, but he pulled up with a leg problem icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:
