I heard today that there have been changes at Leigh East. I understand 'Mr.Chairman' - Keith has stood down as Rugby Chairman and Phil Johnson has been asked to take over. Keith did wonderful work for the East and it is sad news if is not now involved. Phil is no problem, another hard worker and he will show the same enthusiasm as Keith.
Secretary Janet Pendlebury stood down a few weeks ago, she will be hard to replace because she did a wonderful job for all the teams and was well liked by everyone who appreciated the hard work and the hours she put in. A new coach as well,Gary Grainey is the new head coach of East. He has been involved with one of the younger teams in the recent past and it is a shrewd move by the East Committee to appoint him.
The East is a fabulous family club, these changes happen from time to time but you have my best wishes for continuing success both on and off the field.

Great club had many years there watching the sons play, Rich didnt play long but he played. I collected subs organised dos and ran my sons team for a long time I know that no one has been as passionate as Keith for this club, even though JAMES no longer plays it will always hold a special place in my heart.

keith deserves to take it easy because he put alot of time and effort in the club and can look at how strong hes left the club,he can now spend time with his grandkids at the caravan but im sure he'll keep coming to the club and give his full support to the new rugby commitee because hes always had the clubs interests in his heart,even when he gets a bit giddy

Keith you should bow out with your head firmly held high and just remember the good times. Amature rugby league is alive and kicking in our great town thanks to people like you. We have two of the best amature setups in the country with both giving us a famailly friendly place to watch the greatest game in the world. Knowing Phil I'm sure you are passing it to someone who is just as passionate as you and I wish him all the best. You can now put your feet up and enjoy the match days. Well done.

Good luck with the 'retirement' Keith but if I know better you will be just as busy and many thanks for all your hard work for Leigh East over the years you have certainly left it in a great state and in good hands.

You will be leaving behind a fantastic legacy Keith, who would have thought what would be achieved when putting that shack together all those years ago.

Thanks for liasing with me over the years Keith with everything from The Leythers MB team through to the Entertainments commitee and all presentations or events I have been involved with.
