Had a lovely one tonight at the Miners watching their U18s Vs Easts. Good crowd on, good game ( 28 all) and a very friendly familly atmosphere. Ref needed a dip in the cut after but hey ho. Some excellent young tallent on show. Tonight really made me realise why I miss my home town so much. No better people on this planet than Leythers.

how did my nephew do east no 9?

Strong lively lad. The only real lad that stood out for me was the Miners No4. He was very quick. Ref spoiled it by using the wrong colour card but he may have been briefed as to what could happen and had to make examples to keep the calm. Was funny when the second set of red cards came out because the East defender made no attempt to tackle the player who broke through he just punched him in the face. I konw it's not really funny but it made me smile. Tell you what Lynda there weren't half some good hits going in from both teams.

Going away from the ref thing (quickly) can someone answer this. In the amature game or under 18s, does the game have to stop for an injured player even when the injured player is nowhere near the play and it is'nt a head injury? I have to say that the two assistants were very good and professional. The ladie one was talking to the players making sure they were back in line.
