| The Scarborough Centurions ended the CRL 2011 season with a fiercely contested 28 - 30 loss to York Region Reds.
Scarborough put on a great show of free flowing rugby (admittedly at times too much free flowing) but the much bigger pack of the opposition proved to be too much for this very exciting but young side with 4 of the players as young as 17.
One consolation for the Scarborough team is that they scored more and conceded less points than any other team: For 98 Against 74.
The Final game witnessed Niagara Bobcats take on Toronto City Reds, The 2 original teams from last season. Another great game of rugby league with Niagara winning 30 - 26.
Next week the International squad will be announced and I'm confident the Scarborough Centurions will be well represented to take on Jamaica, South Africa and the USA (home and away).
Each player left the pitch thanking the coaching staff for the opportunity to be taught and play rugby league and looking forward to playing again.
With the Internationals approaching, a 9s tournament later in the year and an increasing number of players the future of rugby league in Canada is very encouraging.
On behalf of the Scarborough Centurions thank you for your support.

| Yeah another tight couple of games which as a neutral it must have been great to watch. To have lads asking for more League games at this stage in the development of the sport is a huge success.
Its very rewarding to see guys try the game out, improve their standard of play and then wanting more.
I cant say I'm not disappointed with our result but, as a rugby league fan first and being away from Leigh during this great season, its just fantastic to watch Rugby League.

| Its been unbelievable how close this series of games have been - I think in the 8 games, all but one have had a converted try in it at the end, which has made it very enjoyable.
I am looking forward to seeing how the international squad shapes up and we can see just how good they are at a higher level.
I did take some video at the last game which I will try and get around to editing and put on youtube. I wish I had been able to record the final as there were two props, one from either side, who caught the eye. One kicked a monster penalty to touch, the other ran the length of the field and outstripped the opposition backs - and both big lads to! As the other linesman (Paul from Leigh) said, fastest prop he had seen since Jimmy Fiddler. Before my time of course...

What are the chances of a home and away season in 2012?

| I would say a very good chance. We are meeting this weekend to pick the International squad and discuss the success of the domestic competition. One suggestion is to have the same set up but with more teams involved. I personally would like to have home and away fixtures with a Grand Final day to finish off, even if that means just the 4 teams but with a bigger pool of players to pick from.
Niagara won the competition and played all their games in Toronto, it would be nice to play the champions in their own backyard next year.
I don't think anything will be decided for a while as attention will be towards the Internationals and arranging a 9s tournament.
The British Columbia league starts in June with 3 teams so far in the Vancouver area so it will be interesting to see how that develops.
Maybe one day we could have our own Club Challenge!

| Following on from SC, that would be nice but each team needs to find their own local base. Scarborough certainly does not have one yet...not sure about the others.
The whole timing of the season needs to be figured out. Winter rugby is certainly impossible when it can get to minus 30 in some parts and the ground is like permafrost beneath a foot of snow! Summer can get to plus 30 and it is like an oven, plus there is the union season to contend with.

| Since the CRL season began I've been posting the previews and reviews on the forums of Salford, Saints the International forum and obviously Leigh's. I posted on those club forums because of the links they have with Canadian teams. Having a couple of Leyther's on the ground in Canada has boosted the interest in my posts far more than it has for any of the other three forums. Maybe Leythers are a bit more cosmopolitan than people from other parts of the North West.

| Oh we are but we never forget the club we support.
Look at me who would have guessed I would have ended up in the posh part of Salford but still watching Leyth home and away every week.

simpsons/PDT13.gif Brad Fitler "If the ref's decision decides your game. You haven't done enough prior."
Referees are like women, they make snap decisions and never reverse them.

Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.:simpsons/PDT13.gif |

| No Rob it is hard to understand how just one Leyther can relocate to a depressed area and turn it into a demi Paradise an Eden a haven of culture and all in just over 30 years.
Thats a quality only Leythers possess but I never say anything.
