It’s coaching only now for me, with one game left for Scarborough Centurions then on to the internationals.
The 25 man squad will be named in the next 2 weeks and I’m sure that a good few of the Scarborough team will be involved.
The confirmed internationals are USA home and away, Jamaica and South Africa at home.
Games against Scotland and Wales are yet to be confirmed.
As for the Scarborough Centurions they have become the team to watch scoring more and conceding less than any other team.
I’m still getting emails from guys wanting to play their first League game and specifically asking to play for Scarborough Centurions.
We are also in early discussions to put on a 9s competition after the internationals are over in October.
But for now the last game of the domestic season will be this coming Sunday (8th) against York Region Reds.

| Good luck with the Internationals, our very own Mick Nanyn and John Duffy could come up against you for Scotland.

| Good to see you are ok Richie.
I had my jaw broke by an idiot with a baseballbat when I was a really good looking 40 year old Wired up for 6 weeks. It did not set properly so the Docs had to break it again under anaesthetic and them it was wired up again for another 6 weeks. Had the wires removed by a useless dentist there was blood everywhere I was sent home then my face swelled up like a balloon and another 3 days in hospital.
13 weeks without solid food but fortunately one of my teeth was knocked out too so thats what kept me alive drinking beer with a straw through that gap in my teeth oh and sucking on soft boiled eggs.
Horrible 3 months but fortunately I regained my impressive chisselled features lost 14 pounds in weight and still have that taste for beer.
Best of luck lad.

| Reading that makes me feel like i came out lucky.
My jaw was just a straight forward break on one side so didnt need wiring.
The cheekbone was the problem with several breaks that needed 2 metal plates to put it back together.
The goods news is the drugs they gave me are working great. Only thing is its taking forever to type

| Good luck on the recovery!
When are all the internationals played because if you're finishing now and not playing internationals until november your players will be awfully rusty! If the usarl is coming into season a few of your younger guys should try and get involved in that league, spend a few months in the states. Match practice and preparation is so important!
When are the WCQ? With US in a mess you could be looking at an upset there and what a boost for the country that would be, lining up against players who are stars in their nation

You make a good point about keeping things going from the end of the regular season to the internationals and we are looking into that. However, many of the players originate from Union so they will be retaining some level of match fitness. We will just have to re-teach them the rules of league! The first international is the end of July against Jamaica.
I think the World Cup Qualifiers are in October. I am ready to be corrected but I believe the International Board has not sanctioned Canada's involvement in this years World Cup, on some technicality or other. I would hope, with the strides we are making, that this decision would be reconsidered, for the good of the game. It would be a huge boost for RL in Canada to play even a small piece in that event.
As it stands, Jamaica, US and South Africa will be battling for that finals berth. Currently we are focusing on "friendly" internationals with these teams. I think Scotland and Wales are currently a bit too far ahead in terms of development for us to be competitive, but thats certainly something to aim for.
