Bolton by birth, Irish by blood, LEYTHER by heart and soul!! As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. Myself and Walt Jnr. attended - not big cricket fans, but he insisted we went!!
An enjoyable couple of hours and a win for the Centurions!! eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

Game was reduced to 18/18 owing to a delayed start, and set a target of 166 by LCC the Centurions won with a couple of balls to spare!!
Stars of the show in the batting stakes were Armi with an unbeaten 56 (and a couple of wickets if memory serves!) and late batting replacement "Sid" Baldwin, who hit the winning boundry!!
Basil bowled a couple of tidy overs, as did Riddy, and Hilly - with a slightly suspect action!! Though not nearly as suspect as that of Mr. Goulden!! icon_lol.gif
Tommy did redeem himself with the catch of the game - a flying dive in the outfield that would have done many a pro cricketer proud!!
Honourable mention also to Donlan, who provided a reasonably safe pair of gloves behind the wicket!!

A good laugh, and several hundred quid raised for a worthy cause. They plan to do it again next year - in mid summer, and the LCC lads doing a Qwik Cricket demonstration at half-time during a game at the LSV.

They might make a cricket fan out of me yet!! icon_lol.gif

Sounds like a great event, wish I'd known about it in advance?!

Well, if you came to the Sports village, instead of wasting your time and money at the Willows, you'd have seen the adverts in the programme!! icon_wink.gif

TBH if Walt Jnr. hadn't pointed it out to me, I'd have overlooked it as well!! icon_lol.gif

What makes you think that I don't?! You can watch more than one RL team at a time you know?!
Never buy programmes, regardless of where I am (or what sport it is).
The only exception was the last game at Burnden Park.
