| there was never 14 men on the the field today. duffs threw the substitute card onto the floor and ran onto the field whilst jock was coming off and then the mc came onto the field to tell the ref and he sent duffs off because he should have never been on the field in the first place and brought jock back on

| These MC's are becoming a thorough nuisance! He made PR change from his yellow 'Trainer' shirt to a blue' Water Carrier' one. PR ran onto the pitch, with water and was promptly told by the ref that he had to put the yellow one back on!
I know that the water carriers can be a thorough nuisance, but with today's high temperatures, I thought it harsh that Mr Halloran retricted both teams to just one water carrier in the second half. That's why ours got red carded - in addition to Duffy.
Talking of this ref, it's interesting how he kept doing us for crossing when we were passing behind the dummy runner. And how, every time the crowd shouted 'forward', the ref obliged. We should remember that if he comes to the LSV.

think you will find that the one sent off was a water carrier with a blue top on (same as the leigh shirt ) and rightly so as he looked liked
one of your players

| In the first half Rowley had a blur top on and was told by the ref to leave the field and change it.........it was Shaun who was sent off in the 2nd half cos he come onto the pitch while Rowley was already on.

The MC made Rowley change into a blue shirt. The ref told him to put the yellow one back on. The ref laid down the law on water carriers, before the start of the second half, so the Leigh lad clearly infringed. My point is that he should have tolerated the water carriers - from both teams - in the second half, given the conditions.
I can understand the frustrations of players, who seem to be subjected to inconsistent referees each week. What Halloran deemed to be 'crossing' hasn't been considered to be 'crossing' by other Championship refs. we have had. (What about the one he gave when the 'Haven full back ran the ball out in the second half? His one team mate was done for obstructing the six Leigh chasers! Petty in the extreme!)

| The rules are pretty clear on water carriers. They are only permitted on after a try or when play has stopped for injuries. If a player wishes to have water then they are free to go to the sideline and receive water at any other time.

But when temperatures are as hot as they are there needs to be some lenience. He let Whitehaven have more than one waterboy on during the second half whilst Leigh were restricted to one. There needs to be consistency.

| anyway back to the topic
Just watched the game again and there were only 13 Leigh players on the field on play when the try was scoredor even when the ball was diclodged/lost Duffs had replaced McConnel, the 'mix up' came some minutes before when Duffy was sent to the sidelines to tell the 4th official he was coming on my 'action' shows Duffs going to the sidelines but unfortunately goes out of shot, he then runs back on play goes from a scrum through a couple of tackles a penalty another couple of tackles and then the try.
More 'light' may be shone when I watch the footage off my second camera shooting 'Long' attached to the main camera.

| DEFINATELY only 13 on the pitch bat any one time, the mix up came where the 4th official drops Duffys 'sheet' and stands there like a duck egg waiting for him to come back to pick it up, it does get picked up and handed to 4th official Duffy then comes back to touchline and touches the form whilst in 4th officials hand and runs back on field 5 minutes yes FIVE MINUTES then elapses before duffs is shown the red card now in that five minutes there has been about six tackles a dropped ball a scrum a penalty and a try yet the incompetant Match commissioner and 4th official - for thats what they appear to be - do not get a message onto the ref that the Duffy interchange has been deemed BY THEM to be illegal.
John if you do get summoned to appear before the discipline committee forget Freer I'll do it its a no-match mate.
Want to check it yourself then Haven fans contact your club and buy a dvd Leigh fans know where I am.

I agree with you and said so to fellow Leigh fans.
Re the ref I thought for everyone he gave against us he gave one in our favour so it evens out. The idea that refs respond to crowds shouting is a bit wide of the mark in my view.
