| Can't see the RFL being this brave. Didn't the Aussies do something similar with Newtown in the 1970s or 80s?
I think Leigh should be promoted into the NRL to replace them!  |

| Looks like Leeds may get the £50k World Club Championship prize money from Storm and it also looks like Mr. Hetherington will share it amongst his players. Not a bad pay day for the players - especially as they lost! |

Dont think Leeds should get the prize money, yeah they did cheat in the NRL but the World Club Challenge isnt a domestic cup so shouldnt have any bearing...IMO
The RFL dont have the balls to brandish such punishment, unless SKY say they can.

Would they have got to be in the WCC though if they had not broken the SC though?
I still don't agree the money should go to Leeds, maybe as it is not domestic it should be made payable to a benevelant (sp) fund instead |

News Ltd, 100% owners of the Storm, know nothing of these extra payments?
The same News Ltd that owns 50% of the NRL (NRL the company not half the teams!)
The same News Ltd that owns 68% of Brisbane Broncos? (no conflict of interest there then, what if they play a crucial game between them...?)
The same News Ltd that is wholly owned by News International, which in turn is also owned by Rupert Murdoch....
The same Rupert Murdoch who owns Fox Sports in Australia, and Sky NZ?
And SkySports here?
Rupert Murdoch would have no interest in an expansionist club (Melbourne) doing well would he? No chance of selling more fox sports subs if he captures Australia's 2nd largest market.
That sort of thing would never happen over here, no siree, <cough> no team needed here <cough>

The Watcher believes that the RFL do not have the necessary reproductive tackle to do anything like that to one of our so called top clubs.They cant even stick to their own rules regarding ground standards.

Nice to see a governing body make a solid decision based on facts it had before them and also not caring that the club was from a 'non' league area when handing out the (fair) punishment, a applaudable decision.
Basil made a good point on Radio Manchester about players from other clubs feeling sore about not winning a GF (having been beaten by Melbourne now finding out that Storm broke the rules which may have gave them the edge.
Gotta feel sorry for the Melbourne fans as they will have had no idea it was going on.
