insurance at the moment costing me £1500 for my 1.2 clio shed
tried to use the websites like comparethemarket for a ford 1.2 ztec and the robbing @r5eh0les want £2500
anybody know any cheap insurers?

cheapest i got this year was from asda vai go compare
before that i was with bedford insurance in wimbledon 0208 543 6347 for about 5 yrs as no one could beat their quotes, they might be worth a shot.

I was having the same problem because I had to make a claim nearly two years ago (some toe rag tried to break into my car and damaged all the door panel).
Anyway I got these:

They were the cheapest by far, and they also come fit a tracker in your car (included in the price). I'm not saying it will be as cheap for you but I only drive about 2500 miles a year so it was good for me. |

Really struggled with this one for my son eventually just gave up with the idea of having his own car and added him to our insurance, it went from £235 to £1450, but this year its come down to £950, and as he's a named driver he's earning some no claims.
We're currently with Swift, when I discussed it with Swinton they said they (Swift) seem very difficult to beat with regards to young lads, maybe worth a try.

I used CIS when my lads first got cars, cheaper by a mile 8 years ago.
Currently use directline for my own car as cheapest I could find - lads not on the insurance though
Have been told sheila's wheels can be reasonable at times.

I'm with Quinn at the minute and they've been spot on, to be fair. Had to take a hit on the first year or so but it's halved in the three years since then.

Whats the value of the Ford? Is it modified in any way? A cars value has a big impact on how much your insurance will cost. When i first passed my test i had a Mk2 Golf that cost me £1300 TPFT to insure it then went up even more when i told them it had alloys and i £1000 of stereo in the back  the first few years are killers but 10 years on it still feels like your paying too much even though i only pay £500 for me and the missus.
Oh and try Elephant.co.uk as they have a 10 month policy for newer drivers to boost no claims discount.

Have you tried Direct Line Ste they were by far the cheapest when the daughter got her first car, i know it is slightly differant for lads though. |
