I applaud the marketing of the club and good luck with it, but I suspect Gateshead will have to make do with a sizeable following from Leigh to boost their coffers. Supporting your club on the road is one thing but paying your rivals 50 quid for the privelege is a bit much!

Sod the £50, I'm on for the cheapest away game in history

The more you think about it, the less sense it makes shelling out 50 quid. Imagine the scenario..the match is tight and there is dirty play on both sides...3 are sent off and 2 are sin binned. Leigh win the match with a controversial penalty try in the last minute. The ref and the leigh players have to be escorted off the pitch and the Leigh fans have to stay behind for 15 mins to allow the Gateshead fans to disperse. Then you have to go and eat after match dinner surrounded by Gateshead fans and players.

An unlikely scenario, perhaps, but win or lose it could certainly be a bit uncomfortable!

Come on - this is RL we're talking about NOT the round ball game!

Thunder have taken umpteen bad defeats in the past in true sportsmanlike spirit - we're not going to change now (hopefully this won't prove necessary!)

The most 'crowd trouble' we've had is when (a few seasons ago in Northern Ford) a few Featherstone fans thought they'd take the seats with them at the end

Other than normal 'banter' and occasionally a few choice words (which we try to avoid in the interests of the 'family game' atmosphere) nothing uncivilised happens (turns and touches large piece of wood here)

Let's hope it's a good game with a clear winner (preferably Thunder!)
