I believe any Widnes fan whop thinks that the victory tonight points to a rosie future is well & truly misguided.Without any shadow of a doubt the Leigh team who played this evenings game was the worst in 6/7 years.Going back 5/7 years players like Turley,Street,Whittle,Isherwood,Bristow,Norman,Kendrick,Duffy,Cruckshank,Larder,HamiltonSvabi,Anderson & Ingram were no world beaters & the majority of them weren`t even lower SL class but they would have put the present LRLFC outfit to the sword.The present bunch of players reminds me very much of the sorry bunch that Millward took over they, & so are this lot, are missing a trio of zealous & forceful competitors but more importantly,an overseer to sort it out.

"Most of it has been fabrication but it has cost us the signing of three players we wanted to keep in Scott Grix, Lee Greenwood and Dean Gaskell. They believed what was being said and went elsewhere.
"But believe me, we are not is financial strife. Such statements are pure nonsense bordering on the criminal.

One of the more ridiculous comments I've seen. All Widnes fans are aware Leigh were total pants tonight and we probably should have scored more. But the fact is, you should be worrying about your own total lack of discipline and terrible play than what we are up to, Other than Heremaia, Roberts and Greenwood, none of your players should have been paid for that display. Leythers fans deserve better than that.
But we are a good side - whether we are as good as Cas....time will tell. But our future is a hell of a lot rosier than yours. |
