very tough game could of gone either way, east had the better field position in xtra time and deserved there victory in the end.

An exciting tension filled game played in good spirit but error strewn by both sides in difficult conditions

Perhaps a couple of games too many for the Miners as they have dominated so many matches this year probably by half time that they seemed to be waiting for things to ' happen ' rather than making them ' happen '

All in all both teams , players and coaches should be proud of the dislpay put on today , an ' Arm wrestle ' is how Stevo would have put it

However Ryan O Toole( Leigh Easts no 13) plays for the 21s.

A lot of talented players from both teams on display but Leigh seem to sign a lot from out of town.

Great tension, with lots of errors as Starbug said from both teams. Both defences at times were awesome.

No doubt that the best team on the day won, so congratulations to Leigh Easts.

turns out the minors have blotted their copybook

last night a few of the east lads called in at the minors club to shake hands, share a drink etc but one of the players didnt like it, soft lads had to get his dad to fight his battles the and the afore mentioned dad head butted one of the east lads (one of the smaller ones though)

We've been requested to do a feature in the Leigh programme, on this match. (it might have to be the Halifax programme, as we are struggling for space in the Widnes one) However, I've only been given a photo of the East team, and I want to give a balanced view, by including one of the Leigh MR side. I know East won, but to have TWO Leigh teams in the final, is a marvellous feat - and it would only be right to include photos of both of them.

So, has anyone got a photo of the Miners' lads, to publish?
