The game is very unlikely to be called off.

Weather this week has been relatively mild but Sunday will be wet and windy with a temperature of 7c.

Why would it ? We have seen lots of games in such circumstances.

Will be a forward battle therefore and because of that I think we should do well.

Never seen much wrong with the pitch at Barrow. It's Whitehaven isn't it that floods badly, especialy the bottom end? Not that we could have seen it last year in the darkness with no electricty.

Was it barrow we played when we sang the dam busters song and could hardly see under that little stand. Our crowd was the 18th man that night it was brilliant we just never stopped singing.

Barrow is the worlds longest Cul-De - Sac , like a trip back in time , you can still watch the game from the Gents behind the posts , a couple of decent pubs on the way there , should be an easy win if the pitch is decent , only Liam Harrison to trouble us ,Charlie says 3points .

Had a great day/evening up at Barrow in 2011(?) Came back from around 16 or 18 - 0 down early on. Couldn't see a thing 2nd half due to dodgy floodlights! Remember the game being in the balance and then Stu Donlan came charging out of the gloom at the far end towards the exultant Leythers to score! Belting match that one!

That was the one, had no voice left Hands red from all the clapping don't know how I drove home it was match you had to be there to believe what the lads did that night.

The start for us was poor & it looked like Barra would beat us convincingly but what a come back. I remember Mado getting knocked out cold & Liam Harrison running straight over to get him in the recovery position & after being unconcious for a few minutes got up & carried on playing big respect to both men


The 2nd half display by the boys was awesome playing in candle light & Donlans surging try at the end was class even if we were straining our eyes to see

Definitely up there with my all time favourite away games, that one.

In all honesty after Barrow's performance against North Wales I can only see a comfortable Leigh win by about 50 points, just like we did to you about 4 seasons ago when we had Steve Deakin in charge and mad Des (Abramovich) as chairman. Looking forward to seeing a good Leigh contingent at the game.

PS If Charlie (Chaplin) wants to carry on moaning about our ground/location then I suggest he stays at home. It's a s***hole but its our s***hole.

Paul Rowley has said Kurt will not be playing against Barrow as part of the deal.

My late Uncle George played for Barrow in the 30's and his wife and 2 daughters will be receiving a customary visit before the match from myself and other Leyther family members.

When I was about 4 years old we used to go up there for our hols and mam and dad loved the St Mary's club.
