Leigh have qualified for the Quarter Finals of the Trophy comp with a game to spare.

The last game of the day will decide who wins the Group as we've beaten Gateshead 20-10 & london 26-16.

considering you all seem to think its a waste of time why do you ask about it.. just for reference leigh only played nanyn taylor durbin wingfield from first team squad the rest made up of reserve team players and no one seemed to get hurt except a scholars player who may have broken his ankle(may, not confirmed)
in all a great day was enjoyed with rival speccies joining in all games played on two pitches with leigh followed by quite a few regulars. lppking forwardc to sunday and dont be suprised if we pull it off (rumour tommy sale turning out)

What are the rules to this 9's competition, how long are the halves?

9 minutes each way, no kicking to touch from penalties, tap restart by defending team on halfway after a try, 5 minute sinbins, 5 in scrum, 4 outfield players, drop kicks at goal.

I must say a very enjoyable day, but the timing of it is chronic considering everyone has prospective promotion, play-off and relegation games ahead... For me this tournament should be held ahead of the Grand Finals Day for the National Leagues, although in truth it does need a venue with two pitches....

Whilst the Woodlands is pleasant enough, you can't get good views from a filming point of view and the press facilities are very basic. I spent most of the afternoon leaning on railings doing my updates. Mind you I suppose I have been blessed this season with the gantry at the LSV...
